Robert Williams is so important to the Celtics. I hope that Joe Mazzula will have play Rob Williams as he is meant to play in the upcoming season.
Short answer: No.
I love Rob. His peak is actually what makes the Celtics peak defensively, and that’s what helped turn around the team during Udoka’s tenure. The problem is that he’s not consistently healthy enough for us to rely on said peak. He’s injured… ALL. THE. TIME! And this is all happening in his young career. Why should we think he’ll ever get healthy the OLDER he gets??
As much as it pains me, it’s just not gonna ever happen. Believe me, I would absolutely LOVE to be wrong about this because if I am, it likely means the Cs are winning championships with him… but I don’t think his health will be dependable enough.
I think starting 5 next season is Rob, Tataum, Brown, Smart, White. Al can come off the bench with Galanari, Brogdon, and Hauser. I’m assuming Grant won’t be back.
Why haven’t they taught footwork to Rob yet he’s about to turn 26 it’s TIME
I honestly think Joe might be a manager type of guy rather than x and o’s lol getting in guys who know basketball at the next level is key. Even if they run it back, with a healthy off season and this coaching staff… this could be the year (AHAHAHH)
Well, our guy was coming off of surgery . Then he had to get integrated into a new system. I always think that with certain things, it takes a full year . Alas, he does have that medical issue with his legs as well ,forever making health a question mark. He was being more aggressive towards in the Miami series on the offensive side. I think Rob can manage to get his jumper to be consistent so that he doesn’t have to jump all the time and learning to punish smaller defenders.
Derrick White can run a pick and roll very well.. he is aguably the best handler in pick and rolls on this team. Checkout his pnr with Spurs Jakob Poetl. Him and Rob will be very dangerous
Forsberg! Rob can be depended on. His health however is another question altogether. “Hey where the white women at?” Google it young folks. Thanks John & Chris. Chris has always been such a down to earth genuine guy. When he was still with ESPN, I was in NJ for Nets-Celtics and he took the time to say hello to me & my dad after the game and talked hoops with us for a while. Solid guy.🙏🏻☘️
I want rob to stick around, but you simply can't count on him to be healthy come playoff time
I wish Celtics trade Rob. He is a great player, but its useless if he cant play !
He needs to develop an offensive game. A couple of blocks and lobs aren’t going to get it done.
