In this Lakers Ideal Offseason roster build we take a look at what LA could look like if they use the 17th pick to trade back in the draft and get Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers. Trevor Lane breaks it all down…

Buddy Hield??? Really??? You think Buddy is the missing piece to get you past the Nuggets??? Maybe he can even help you guard jokic. 🥴
Naz Reid is too small. He’s an inch shorter than Michael Porter Jr the Nugget small forward.
What about the 47th pick?
That team can't defend Joker and can't beat Denver.
Tucker Derives and Anthony Black
would be good draft picks the Lakers Can trade back for.🤔
I like these moves. The only thing I would change is use the full mid-level to sign naz Reid (let DLo walk), then use the taxpayer mid-level to sign Dennis Schroeder. Their roster will look like this:
CP3, Schroeder
AR, buddy hield
Lebron, max Christie, watanabe
AD, vando
Naz Reid, rui
We need to rebuild and construct a roster organically like the last 3 NBA Championship teams have done.
No stretch big = no championship. LBJ has 4 chips ALL of them with a stretch big: C Bosh, K Love, and YES AD – in the bubble he was hitting the 3. We need a Myles Turner, Brook Lopez type – maybe Bamba is that guy, if Phil Handy can work his magic!?! (draft Dereck Lively II?) 🙀🙀🙀
I'd rather have Howard instead of Plumlee
My Ideal Offseason without the in depth knowledge of salaries would be:
G- Paul (min contract)
G- Reeves
F- Bron
F- Hachimura
C- Davis
G- Schroeder
G- Clarkson or B. Brown
F- Hield & T. Brown
F- Vanderbelt
C- Plumblee & T. Thompson
Not going to happen Indiana is not going to give you 3 picks and Hield
Any roster were Anthony Davis at center just pisses me off…
That trade needs to consist of Myles turner not Buddy Hield
We need Rui… he’s a legit 3rd option on offense…
I think it's time the fan base stop perpetuating the myth that AR15 is a point guard. Hes way too slow for that. don't screw him over and put him in a bad situation. Let him develop at shooting guard.
Man motherfuck Buddy Heild … Can’t wait til his name is no longer associated with the Lakers …
Mo Bamba in this deal gets released.
I'd wonder if instead of Mason plumlee the Lakers give mo a 2 year 9 million dollar deal. Plumlee is the better player. Just hate to miss on more potential development with a healthy bamba.
If I had to pick one for next season it would be plumlee though. He makes like 70% of his shots and gets rebounds. Mo just spaces better and that's all.
Buddy I'd be down to have. That trade isn't horrible imo. It can be a benefit for both teams. Indy would have Beasley off the bench. Buddy likely is getting moved at some point regardless.
I also want troy brown back. He way over exceeded my expectation. And made some huge 3s plus defended well.
At this point I just want to see the Lakers do some tweaking without losing the 2029 pick that way there is still a bigger trade before the deadline if need be.
Get Turner and Hield and Lakers will be a Contender.
Why are people constantly prioritizing Hield and not Myles Turner?? We need a starting center as much if not more than another shooter. Plus if Hield forgets how to shoot like the others have, at least with Turner you still have everything else you would need in a starter
Mason plumlee on lakers is NOT a bad thing. In fact he would be really helpfull. I would rather Dennis Schroeder over CP. I am so tired of CP
That's seventeenth pick D'Angelo Russell malik beasley and trading for kyle kuzma
Gotta bring Kuz back and get Gafford or Nazat Center
Too small..not enough defense
i would prefer Dennis S. than DLo.
AR is going to sign for something closer to 20M not 12M imo.
Hello how about Turner or Green ?? We need strong reinfircements or Dwight howard. This team u just created sound weak ! What about Scroder ?
Thats a good team
The Lakers didn't even want D-Lo, they wanted Mike Conley. I would keep Schroder and go after Nas Reid and Buddy Hield. Play AD at the 4. And with the savings try to keep the rest of team.
Balmer and Jerry West will for sure go after CP to spite the Lakers!
If Draymond is available I think he’d be a better fit defensively than CP. He can run the offense, has excellent bb IQ, he is a Leader and won’t let anyone slack off
A few years ago he was very good on offense too. Maybe he got too dependent on Steph,Klay and the other shooters.
My roster pick additions:
Naz Reid
Jevon Carter
Buddy Hield
Draymond Green- if the $ is right
A. Josh Richardson
B. Troy Brown
Keep D. Schruder
Develop the other guys into dependable role player’s
Javale McGee, KCP
Simple as that.
Dude this not ideal I see first round exit
Nice. Love the depth. I'm a bit worried about POA defense though. What is your view on DLo/CP3 combo from a defensive standpoint?
First round exit at best. 🤷🏽♂️
Would pass on this trade with Indianapolis
i don't see both dlo and cp3 on the same roster. it's one or the other imo. they are both starters and i don't see either one willing to come off the bench.
If they trade back I’d like to see they get kris Murray
No Lonnie Walker?
I don’t like it. I’d rather keep Schroder and the mid-level. We need defensive guards. I do like keeping TBJ on a minimum. The better trade is with the Nets for their picks and Finney-Smith or Royce O’Neal…Both are cheaper, better defenders and above average 3 point shooters. That should allow us to keep the mid-level.
