[Neubeck] The Chicago Bulls have had exploratory talks on Zach LaVine, but their asking price is believed to be closer to a traditional star trade rather than the Bradley Beal cap-dump….Bulls would want a package centered around a younger player with upside and multiple picks, sources say.

Neubeck is a reporter for the Philly Voice who is extremely connected with the Sixers organization. He’s a trusted source, and has likely heard some kind of posturing similar to that which he’s reporting regarding Zach Lavine’s availability on the trade market.

> The Sixers also don’t sound like a team expected to be in the mix for some of the market’s biggest names this summer. The Chicago Bulls are fielding calls on most of their roster and have had exploratory talks on Zach LaVine, but their asking price for the 28-year-old is believed to be closer to a traditional star trade rather than the Bradley Beal cap-dump move from Washington over the weekend — Chicago would want a package centered around a younger player with upside and multiple picks for LaVine, sources say.

Trades this year are going to be desperate

    > Younger player with upside and multiple picks

aka the Nikola Vucevic price from 2021

I bet my roommate the right to tattoo anything anywhere on the losers body if the Bulls don’t trade Lavine to Portland so I really hope POR pulls through.

as it should. I know zachs contract isnt suitable to many but give it time, a team would show interest if they close to contending or if they are sick of stinking and wanting to get better. maybe not this year but next year or year after his contract would look better to teams. we aint going anywhere any time soon anyway in the middle of the pack so may as well hold onto him to offload him when a good option presents itself

  5. people saying he isn’t worth it while he’s put up 25/5/5 on 62% TS over the past 3 seasons. played 77 games last season too. idk seems good

I love how everything has flipped from “every team wants 5 firsts like Utah for Gobert” to “they’re hoping to get more than just a salary dump deal like Beal”

I don’t see any teams outside of the knicks, maybe heat, and maybe maybe bucks that would want to trade for him.

And I don’t want any of the knicks young players tbh.

I don’t know the picks situations, but some mid 1st round picks probably won’t cut it.

Lakers probably want to too, but they don’t have much to give up unless it’s like reaves included and picks which they wouldn’t do.

Will the Bulls see the light and finally blow it up?

  9. thelunarunit

I think there problem is a lot of teams that want him are tapped out. All these teams sending a mountain of picks for trades has really depleted trade resources for a lot of teams.

If the Nets can dump Harris, Spencer and like 2 picks with Cam Thomas this gotta be a move, but not sure how the Bulls are valuing Lavine rn.

  11. ObiOneKenobae

I’m not even low on LaVine and that’s goofy.

  12. califournya

I’ll trade Tobias Harris and 52 first round picks for LaVine

  13. TheRealTofuey

Zach Lavine is clearly worth more then Bradley Beal.

  14. SometimesIComplain

Sounds reasonable to me, the Beal trade should absolutely not be used as a touchstone of a good deal lol

  15. SweetFranz

I would give Suggs, the 6, the Denver pick we own, and a future first for him.

I don’t believe the Bulls are actively exploring deals but if the right deal were to come through they will might take it. But it won’t just blow the team up for nothing.

Personally I don’t want to trade Lavine. If anything I think we need to move past Derozan as much as I love him as a player and how he’s taken our young guys under his wing.

Think this is good news but IDK who can pay that price AND wants Zach.

So let’s just make up homer dreams! My scenario: Luka wants out and then we just swap LaVine & picks. 😆

  18. SlickWillie86

As a Bulls fan, if the 76ers want to dump Harris and add Maxey as a sweetener, I’d give up Lavine.

  19. Type_suspect

Knicks have rose and fournier both basically expiring which would be around $34 million in expiring. That should hopefully make it so if we wanted lavine we wouldnt have to give up starters /strong picks. its an odd situation where a players contract is very expensive multi year and could essentially be written off after a season. Interesting to see how that’s weighted

  20. Lavine may be the most underrated player in the league. He’s been playing on an all-NBA level and is more comparable to Booker than Beal.

  21. snowlarbear

can we get Lavine to NOP, we need to reunite the mountain dew crew

  22. WhileFalseRepeat

Any team that gives this asking price would have to believe LaVine is the missing piece of a championship-caliber team *and* have picks *and* be able to survive the new CBA.

See ya in Chicago next season Zach.

I wouldn’t mind if you kick some ass next season too.

A LaVine and Beal trade were always going to look different because Beal had a no-trade clause. That’s why they got what they did for him. He had all the leverage and they had none.

I think the likely place for Zach, based on literally nothing but logic, would be the Knicks. They have the young players they can offer (Toppin and Barrett) and have plenty of picks that they can dangle. They were in on Mitchell last year until the cost got too high, and I don’t think the cost for Zach will be the same (my hunch is it’s Toppin/Barrett and a pair of 1sts) and he’d fit the bill for what they need in a wing.

  24. Shepher27

The only reason the Suns got Beal for so little was because of his “No Trade” clause. Someone would have offered the Wizards *something* for him otherwise

  25. Fast_Stick_1593

Beal has a NTC so of course the package would be different.

But if they’re expecting a big package they’re in for a shock. Most teams don’t have the haul of picks they’d want.

  26. READYTORISK

zach is underrated. def would be a awesome addition for any team

  27. Hupsdad

Making $49M in 2027. Good luck with that.
