i really like his character, motor, and work ethic.

i’m still higher on Hendricks and Ausar personally but not at all upset at Walker joining the blue and gold

I have a very strong gut feeling Detroits taking him unless they trade out.

I hope not though. I’ve been a Jarace stan for 4.5 months and I’m not stopping now.

The worry about his offensive game is so exaggerated IMO due to the the fact he went to a team with 4 returning guys who scored in double digits the year prior aka he knew he was going to be used as a offensive role player, on a defense minded team pre-season ranked #1 in the country, and so many examples of small sample size.

I’ve watched so many hours of his film in high school (Junior and Senior year) dude actually had less concerns coming out of HS about his shooting (particularly his mid-range) than Brandon Miller. Miller’s biggest concern coming out of HS was his very inefficient 3-ball and his streaking shooting in general.

One of the highest floors of any player in the draft with still an insane ceiling.

Then throw in literally the dozens and dozens of reports and quotes by HS coaches, AAU coaches, and Houstons staff over the past 2 years about how insanely hard Jarace works, gym rat, film study rat, eager as hell to learn, great character and teammate, chose a “smaller role” on a set competitive roster to try an win a championship.

    Jarace is my guy.

Still love Hendricks, still love Ausar… but Jarace is still my guy.

Not the guy I want at #7 to be honest. Don’t see him as a good long term fit and that shot is pretty rough.

While I think Hendricks would also be great at the 4 in Indy, Walker is absolutely my Draft crush at 7.

Intangibles galore, he could’ve gone for a program where he was the “star” or part of a major class of 5* guys like an Arkansas or Alabama… but he chose to go to program where he wasn’t the lead in order to help a team win.

Defensively, he’s built like an outside linebacker and would put opposing ballers through hell.

Offensively, he might need to get a little more physical, but he’s got great feel and can play make from the post and I’d love to see what our offense looks like if he’s the worst shooter on the floor- that’s a ton of movement and mismatches to exploit.
