    Look at the Portland development culture, where they have just been bitten by poor health BRoy 3x 2nd All-NBA SG behind some guy named Kobe ahead of some kid named Dwayne Wade/Oden shooting 70% FT’s with his left hand when he broke his dominant right hand and draft decisions CJ > Giannis, Zach Collins > Bam, KD being the #2 pick behind Oden, trading a bunch of 1st’s, before eventually hitting on Shaedon and Dame. They maxed out LaMarcus Aldridge after he was seen as soft for not being able to avg 10RPG earlier in his career as well as maxed out Batum and 2nd Round pick Wes Matthews. Dame talks about David Vanterpool being on his ass for everything as a rookie as people take for granted that Dame developed from fringe All-Star at 6’1.5 to 1st Team All-NBA in the greatest Point Guard era ever AFTER the team lost LA/Batum/Wes/Afflalo/three 1st round picks while getting nothing in return after just Dame’s 3rd season in the league.

    Then look at guys that teams gave up on who had their best seasons in Portland to revive their careers like Carmelo who was out of the league for a year before losing weight to max out his defensive ability while becoming the off-the-ball spot up shooter everyone wanted him to become shooting 40% from 3PT after being out of the league, Mo Williams/Dorrell Wright/Moe Harkless/Rodney Hood/Jusuf Nurkic/Trevor Ariza/Robert Covington, Meyers Leonard saving himself from being a bust out of the league in 4 years after being drafted #11 overall after Dame went #6 by developing a 3PT shot which then took away from his 7’1 athletic rim protector/rebounding potential that made him a valued project piece, Norm Powell as a 6’3 SF with an inconsistent 3PT shot who wasn’t going to get any money from Toronto who had replaced him with younger bigger better shooting OG Anunoby (who hasn’t gotten better) while Powell had a great year in Portland surrounded by the worst team and GM to get a max deal before getting traded to the Clippers.

    2nd Rounder Gary Trent Jr who shot 42% from 3PT in year 2 to earn a 4year $60M extension to have his stats go down in Toronto, 1st Round 6’3 undersized Guards in CJ who came in hurt after playing 4 years at Lehigh and Anfernee Simons who came straight out HS both became 40% 3PT shooter 20PPG scorers next to Dame.

    Even now with Samaki Walker’s son as the last pick of the draft who led the pac-12 in 3PT% and rebounding for two years as he’s young for his grade and a late bloomer, Thybulle going from Ben Simmons/Doc Rivers toxic Philly to shooting 36.8% from 3PT 2nd highest in his career on the most attempts talking in post-game interviews how much Dame and the structure in Portland have given him confidence, Keon Johnson as an athletic freak Marcus Smart, Trendon Watford as an UDFA, Nassir Little’s 3PT% going up each year to now 36.7%, as they take a flyer on Reddish while needing to max out Shaedon and hopefully Brandon Miller @ 3 after Charlotte realizes how dumb it would be to pass on Scoot when he’s a 6’3 215 downhill force who can play without the ball and Melo Ball is a 6’7 elite shooter and efficient playmaker looking to make the best IQ play possible with the least amount of dribbles who has the size and shooting to space the floor as a wing where he’d honestly be better off developing the skills to defend 1-4 with his size/rebound like Lonzo.

    Gil comments about the refs is on point..but the same happened in the bubble with the Lakers..Blazers and Nuggets were butchered for Lebron and the Lakers to win it..and then Miami was barbeque chichen..
