This has be like Boston 5th year in a row getting great talent without losing much. Crazy. Then people wonder why they stay going to the ECF. GMs who actually go for it and aren’t waiting around.
It’s still fuck the Celtics.

So they substitute Brooks with Smart, but loses Jones at backup PG.

**Tyus got his shot to show what he can do as a starter now. He showed promise in Memphis.**

It’s actually absurd how the West gets better every year.

Giving up 2 1st for Marcus Smart is deplorable

People see 1st rounders and freak out like it’s the NFL.
A lot of players at the end of the first round don’t work out

Ngl they should have just kept Smart, I find him way more valuable

Grizzlies defence might be a problem as long as Ja doesn’t keep being Ja they might actually be fine in the west

Want to be on record for this one. Really, really hope I’m wrong.
As a life-long Celtic hater- and casual Memphis fan- I think the Celtics made out huge. I’m not a big Zingis fan- and will like the deal for Boston less if he gets an extension- but I’ll be surprised if there isn’t a noticeable offensive upgrade for Boston when next year’s playoffs come around, even if Zingis has little to do with the upgrade. And they load up on picks.
For Memphis, this is a bad deal. They were the #2 rated defense last year (and #4 the year before) so the upgrade will be marginal in the best scenario. They trade tw.. er three firsts, and a useful back-up point for a guy who is a lot like a guy they already had. Even if you think Smart is better, the positional fit is not nearly as good as it was with Brooks.
I’m calling if three firsts for Memphis because I’m including the one they have to throw in to move Smart next year after he finishes the season playing 15 minutes a night.

Memphis is going to be a scary defense lineup.
