Richaun Holmes Traded To Mavs + Olivier-Maxence Prosper Drafted By Mavericks In 2023 NBA Draft

The Dallas Mavericks have made another pick and trade in the 2023 NBA Draft! The Mavs have traded for Richaun Holmes and the #24 pick in the NBA Draft, which they’ve used on Marquette forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper. Holmes is slotting into the trade exception the Mavs got in the Davis Bertans trade down with the Thunder earlier tonight. The exact Mavs trade details are not yet known, but this appears to be a huge get for the Mavs!

Mavs-Kings Trade details:
– Mavs Get: Richaun Holmes (F) and Olivier-Maxence Prosper (F, Marquette)
– Kings Get: TBA

Richaun Holmes is due $12.0 MM this year and has a $12.9 MM player option after falling out of the Kings rotation this past year. But he was a 14+ PPG scorer just two years and the Mavs are hoping he can find that impact once again.

NBA Draft Scouting Report for Olivier-Maxence Prosper from Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer: “Explosive athlete in all regards. He leaps out of the gym, has a quick first step, and moves very well laterally. He exemplifies the spirit of a role player. He’ll chase down a rebound, dive on the floor for a loose ball, and race to get back on defense. Aware off-ball cutter both in designed plays and when improvising.”

Olivier-Maxence Prosper highlights and college stats: 12.5 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game on 51.2% shooting and 33.9% from deep.

  2. Can’t give them a draft grade until you see what they gave up to sac? What if they gave up 2024 and 2025 first round picks? Just saying, we just don’t know yet

  3. Dallas was going to take Lively at 10 so to get him at 12 and shed Bertans contract is a A+ move. From 2019-22 Holmes was solid averaging 12.5ppg and 1.3 blocks. Since Sabonis has arrived, Holmes has taken a back seat. As a result, it appears as Holmes is a wash but he really isn’t, this highlights the importance of getting consistent time in the rotation. Olivier is decent and worth taking a swing at so this trade is a B+. Collectively Dallas has earned an A

  4. I wanted max and we got ‘em !!! Yes, max is herb Jones ish.
-Now go get, Jae crowder or Dillion brooks or jermai grant !!!! All them are worth 2-3yr deals

  5. So the mavs had 1 first round draft pic a
Bd were able to steal 3 players in the first round? And all the pics are of need A 2 way PF, Defensive center who can rebound, and a a big 2way wing 🤤🤤🤤. Resign Kyrie, a competent 3rd ball handler who can run the bench unit and play some defense, and ONE MORE WING. I’m being greedy, but barring injury that’d be the perfect mavs team. Every position filled….. This is special!!!

  6. I don't know how all of these young players will work out but I like the idea of youth movement around Luka and Kyrie.
Green, Lively, Prosper, Hardy all under 23.

Will be very interesting to see what other moves they make. I'm assuming they won't compete for a title next year but the year after if these guys all show growth 2024-25 Luka will still only be 25/26 most championship superstars are 27/28 their first title. I'm skeptical on Kyrie at his age and injury history as a long-term #2 but he's still a great player.
