Duncan Robinson vibes. Mid ceiling, mid floor, useful role player, 6-9th man type. Fringe starter. Helps the Raptors now, might help open a path for a siakam/og trade. Or perhaps a FVV/poeltl run it back for a year. Either way; the fit is good, now it’s just up to Darko to extract max value from an elite 3pt specialist. We tried this before with Matt Thomas, but it failed because he couldn’t get his shot off due to height/spacing. Dick might be able to do better in that regard. Fast release which I really like. I think that will be key.
With Hawkins, Bufkin, George, Whitmore still available the Raps better hope that they made the correct selection. Grady is a nice player but the G League will be his calling this season. Is Wieskamp now gone? Raptors signed PG 5'7 Markquis Nowell (Kansas State) to a two way contract as well. Raptors projected depth chart:
CP: Poeltl/Achiuwa/Koloko
PF: Siakam/Boucher/*Young (*Young may be waived on June 30th if not traded)
SF: Barnes/Porter Jr/ Wieskamp/Dick
SG: Anunoby/Trent Jr
PG: VanVleet/Flynn/Dowtin Jr/Banton

Really excited to watch Gradey and hopefully he can thrive in the new system. What I see is a player that will have an immediate impact as it seems the raptors are looking to try this core out one more time. But, I also see a player who can grow in a multitude of ways. He is already an amazing offensive piece, and people say he's a really hard worker. His potential on offense seems limitless if he works hard, and he definitely has the intangibles to improve on defense if that is a concern. 6'8 and lengthy who can learn from many of our current players and can surely grow on that end of the floor. Really excited to see how he performs and I am extremely happy with this pick, kinda surprised he fell to us. And I'm definetely copping a jersey asap 😆

Ok if he is the shooter we are hoping for , it's a beginning. He's a 20 yr old rookie who can' t be sitting on the bench and alone can't make up for FVV and PS pounding the ball into the floor. Still need more but it looks like the Raps finally see what the fans have seen for years now. They can't shoot
