“We need competition for spots and skills. We thought that with his profile, Nowell could really challenge Fred in the height department.” – Masai or Bobby, probably

  4. The_Living_L

hey I remember this guy, the little 5″6 dude lol

  5. gregbraaa

    Bang he was really good

    > He is only 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, but no one could stop the undersized point guard during the NCAA Tournament. His postseason stat lines looked like they came out of a video game — 17 points and 14 assists against Montana State, 27 points and nine assists against Kentucky, 20 points and 19 assists against Michigan State and then 30 points and 12 assists against Florida Atlantic.

  6. I will have no slander against a fellow short king

  7. StalkingDwarf

We really have a certain type for guards lmfaoo.

  8. macandcheese_19

he will take us to the promise land

  9. A really good UFDA pickup. Nowell is teeny, but he can shoot like a motherfucker and there’s always a place for those guys.

  10. jjkiller26

He was hooping in the tourney. I bet he cooks in the g league

  11. nath999

“The only thing he lacks is size,” Bilas said. “He’s not a big player. But man, that guy can roll. He’s an unbelievable passer. He’s a competitor. He can score. I think the world of him as a player.”

  12. jaydogggg

Hey who knows he might make a splash. We need shooters and dimers looks like he fits the bill

  13. Party_Wolf5197

He can break down the defence, pass and make plays. Wouldn’t be surprised if has a chance to make the roster by the time the season starts

As a noted casual, I appreciate the Raptors going full content mode by drafting a kid named GRADEY DICK and then turning around and signing a short king PG. I’m here for the chaos.

  15. Young_God_7

gosh darn it. I’m not a Toronto fan but I’m here because this kid’s basketball IQ and vision is crazy. He can cook! He was dropping dimes all over the place in the tourney. Really hope he gets an NBA roster spot.

From everything I’ve read about this kid he’s insanely talented, high-level playmaker, high level three-point shooter, athletic with great burst BUT…he’s 5″8 which is an issue lol if he was a few inches taller he would be a first-round pick

Give me at least one more of these UDFA updates tonight and I’ll be fine.

  18. Nat_Feckbeard

He could be amazing offensively, but at that height he’s going to be hunted mercilessly on defense. We’ll see if he’s got chops like FVV and Lowry to survive out there

  19. Dracouer

He was so much fun to watch in the tournament. Worst that can happen is he doesn’t pan out. Should be fun anyhow.

  20. ComplaintFantastic41

Another Kansas guard? I’m here for it.

  21. octopus86sg

Seems like Nowell is the mixture of Norman Powell.

  22. SlyPooperzzzz

On my momma I knew this was happening, didn’t post my gut instinct though

  23. IamSofakingRAW

I know people want to be optimistic but he’d have to be so incredibly good offensively to make up for the fact he’ll be shorter than everyone in the league. It’s not the era of Mugsy Bogues where there’s one scorer per team. He’d get roasted by real NBA talent and be a zero on the boards or in the paint defensively

  24. redi2roc

Smol but mighty! We can definitely benefit off of his speed.

  25. Phoeniyx

Bruh is shorter than Allen Iverson but taller than Mugsy.

  26. DrMaestus

Thank god it’s Fred VanVleets replacement. Good bye Freddy

  27. pruskamp

Went to KState, watched every game last year. I’m stoked. He has great vision, a great handle, and when he’s hot gotdamn is he lava. Also left D1 as the active career steal leader. I’m obviously biased, but I am happy we have this guy.

  28. iamlegend__

People are going to find out the size is the only issue why he went undrafted because if he was 6’0 he’d legit be a FRP. He’s fucking sick. I don’t know how by the end of training camp he’s not one of the guys we create a full roster spot for.

Was the most entertaining player during March Madness
