@Golden State Warriors

[Slater] The Warriors, per @ShamsCharania , are essentially flipping the Patrick Baldwin Jr. roster spot (and first round contract) for Trayce Jackson-Davis on a cheaper second round contract. Older prospect. This part of CP-Poole trade will be judged on which player is better quicker.

    Trade a late 2022 1st rd pick for a late 2023 2nd rd pick doesn’t feel like 3 D chess.

  2. ProfessionalSpirit84

Wizards are my new second team lol. That’s such an interesting roster right now, probably 25 wins but tons of potential.

Ok now this is fucking stupid… I get Poole and Rollins with the protected pick. But PBJ too? That’s pretty much 2 first rounders to dump a contract. Now it’s a fleece…

  4. dnesdnal17

I mean we know who’s getting more playing time for sure, at least at the beginning of the season

  5. aarong707

Lacob going cheap on us now? This is some fucking bullshit

  6. sugarpieinthesky

I know I said I was going to sleep in the other thread, but fuck it, this is malpractice.

You have two non-shooting bigs on your team, and you trade the only big you have who can shoot to acquire a third non-shooting big?

This is Chris Cohan era levels of dumb-fuckery. I usually don’t get this far with the language, but this is just straight fucking dumb.

There’s a reason TJD fell all the way to the next to the last pick in the entire draft: he does not work with the players you have. PBJ does.

If your FO is this incompetent, just trade Steph now and save us the goddamn trouble of watching this disaster of a coming season.

I’m not mad at the PBJ for Trayce move Trayce is meant to be ready to play 6’9 decent size PBJ talented sure, but he wasn’t getting minutes this year, so I cant be mad at it. That said next two weeks are huge we need some size rim pressure, rim protection, front court shooting brought in.

  8. nerdalerd

At this rate I’m gonna hold off on liking any young dude on this team until he makes it 4 years lol

  9. MultiPass21

I’m fine with this. PBJ was always a 2+ year project. The Steph timeline is now.

TJD is somebody they can throw into the paint to eat minutes during the doldrums of the winter.

Leading up to the draft I said we needed more adults and fewer kids.

Today was a decent first step in that direction. Curious to see how the rest of Dunleavy’s roster construction works out.

Making it sound like TJD is getting an official 15 spot

…I don’t hate it, but at 57, you’d think you could get him on a value two-way for a chunk of the season. Doubt he’d have hit that 50 game limit by the deadline, could have kept some options open. Flipping 28 for 57 a year later just looks ugly, but I guess it’s dumb to to stop care about optics and hypothetical value.

IU fan here. TJD is a steal for y’all. He will make an instant impact and will fit perfect on your roster especially surrounded by shooters…

  12. BeyondSensitive6298

    It‘s actually a move for CP3,he needs a center.

  13. Snoo-29877

It’s clear that everybody in this thread isn’t knowledgeable in the draft, this is a great pick, especially at 57. Most boards had him gone by 35 and he’s a legit big man who rebounds, defends and finishes. Him and CP3 will make a good duo. TJD was a top 5 player in college ball this year

  14. CriticalPrimary3

TJD is more NBA ready than PBJ. Yall wanted a big, this is it

  15. emestoo

Another guy who can score in ways besides only 3 pt shooting. This is restoring balance to our offense.

  16. BossTML

A lot of y’all said that the two timeline thing won’t workout and we should commit to Steph. This is what it looks like, trading away younger players for more experienced ones (Poole for CP3), giving up draft picks (a 1st and a 2nd), and making salary dumps and trying to find value (PBJ for TJD). Its clear that the FO wants to win now, and for those if you disagreeing with Mike’s moves, you know that Bob is still here and has an input right?

  17. Great pick! We’re still light years ahead.

  18. ArtfulLying

This sub is just full of straight up morons. PBJ was constantly injured and Trayce is probably gonna play more games on the first few weeks with immensely better defense.

  19. Dunleavy was part of the Cohan era. He wants to go back to his roots 😂

  20. aimreallyhigh

The 57th pick is more likely to get zero playing time than any meaningful minutes this year. You guys are delusional if you think this was nothing more than cost savings and a financial decision.

  21. Literally only Steph, Klay, Moody, and Cp3 if his legs are there can shoot on this team. Front court spacing is literally nonexistent.

This, like the Poole for Paul trade, is another cost cutting salary dump move that will be dressed up as a win now lightyears move by warriors pr media and gullible fans.

  22. We are really banking on moody and kuminga to take huge leaps this year, cause by the looks of it , the warriors are moving heaven and earth to pay Klay and dray money that at this point in their careers, they do not deserve

  23. gdshred95

Man that’s a bummer, PBJ has some really nice flashes of what he could be last season.

  24. imrickjamesbioch

Which player is better quicker? One player is a 1st round pick that was good enough to make the roster on a playoff team. The other barley got drafted and will probably spend the next couple years in the g league before being cut…

  25. ProperCuntEsquire

I have more faith in PBJ as a prospect than Poole, Kuminga, or Moody.

  26. droozly

This sub is in meltdown. Y’all ain’t been right yet. Getting rid of the Poole contract was worth the hits.

  27. Chad2Badd

There’s all the talk of “they’re all in on Steph” which is fine, capitalize while you can, but they still don’t have the cap or made any moves to actually make this team a contender again
