Julian Phillips is like Derrick Jones Jr. type and Adama Sanogo is like a baby Draymond Green type of player
i just hope their development would be maximized. also dalen terry i'm looking forward for his development #SeeRed
With Donovan as coach, don't expect this kid to develop.
I like the pick. Personally Emoni Bates could've been had for a cheaper price. And, since it's a crap shoot anyway,I'd rather have taken the more polished player with more upside offensively that can't shoot from anywhere w EASE and a high fluid release
AK trying to make the greatest g league team to walk a court. Carlik Jones got his guy
Off to free agency. Cameron Johnson as a Chicago Bull?
I can see why AKME chose Julian Phillips. And I can envision him playing a role for the Chicago Bulls this season unlike DT last season.
1. Javonte Green and DJJ won't be returning next season so the Bulls have added size, and length to replace the athleticism lost from JG and DJJ in Phillips.
2. Although shooting is a need for the Bulls there's no guarantee that drafting a good shooter equals a productive player, especially if he can't defend, rebound, or play-make. Phillips has been known to be a good rebounder and defender.
3. I like players who finish around the rim with either hand. Julian Phillips seems to have that ability making him a low post-threat.
4. And finally, let's not expect a 19 yr old kid who was a top 12 recruit just a yr ago to be a finished product. Allow him to find his way in the NBA. 1st he has to do what he can to play meaningful mins, then he must build his skillset to expand his game to the point where he can be counted on to win games. Trust the process.
Bonus. #3 pick Scoot Henderson shot 28% from 3. #1 pick Victor Wembanyama shot 28% from 3. #4 pick shot 25% from 3. #5 pick Ausar Thompson shot 30% from 3. #6 pick Anthony Black shot 33% from 3. That's 5 out of the top 6 players chosen who shot below league avg in the NBA. If they are expected to improve so can Julian Phillips.
Wats the odds he got two names of popular high school on south side of Chicago….. Julian high school in the 100s n Phillips high school on the lowend
I kinda wanted to get bates maybe we can invite him if he goes Undrafted
Iâm glad we got a pick and signed sanogo which is nice too. Atleast AK did somthing aha. But then I hope during free agency things go smoove.
I know a lot people didn't like the pick, but this is in the 2nd round and it's always a crapshoot. Don't forget he is also 19.
Dis so cray cray tho like the bulls just made a move just fo da sake a makin a move. Dem need do something big like getting scoot or getting lots of picks. Dis not doing a dayum thing!!!!
Welcome Julian!
I like this move. I'ts the equivalent of getting a late 1st Round Pick. I do, however, think that the Bulls should hit the reset button and rebuild. They could get up to five or six 1st round picks if they trade Lavine, Caruso, and Derozen.
Heâs like Jaden McDaniels
Letâs be realâŠWe could have 5 first round pics and Billy still would give them bare minimum minutes!
I been watching Julian Phillips since he was going into his sr year of HS very good pick up. Reminds me a lot of Tyrus Thomas⊠This pick wouldâve made more sense if we were rebuilding and not in Win now mode. Iâm still questioning how do they plan on playing a kid that raw offensively but yet try to be a playoff team. They are hurting these younger guys development
We a never know because billy wonât play him
I'm loosing confidence in AKME. Bulls needs shooters, badly!
They couldnât get the pick for $3mil?
Looking forward to the video about that press conference last night.
2024 mvp…. đźđ đ
Not gonna lie, it feels a tad weird that AKME right now continue to draft these raw athletes than need reps when theyâre supposedly in win-now mode while the GarPax rebuilding teams prioritized floor and pedigree. Feels like they shouldâve flipped drafting philosophies lol.
Passed on Amari Bailey (From Chicago), GG Jackson, Siddy Cisoko, and most importantly MAXWELL LEWIS, a 6'6 high effort defender and one of the most NBA ready guys in the draft who shot 35 percent from 3 last year (4.2 3PA), which is obviously a lot more to work with than 24 percent. I just don't understand this pick considering we suck at developing players.
Seems like theyâre drafting length which could easily translate to the league, but drafting shooting is iffy and might be better to trade for proven shooters with nba experience
Not mad at it!
Should've drafted Trayce Jackson-Davis with that pick! Look at his scoring and rebounding stats from College and you could easily see that TJD is a player that's already ready to contribute from day one in the league. I don't understand why TF AKME keep drafting these project type players every year instead of players who can contribute at a high level from day one. Last year it was Terry who they barely played when they could've drafted a position of need and drafted Walker Kessler since we need more size, rebounding and rim protection. This year should've been Trayce Jackson-Davis cause he's NBA ready now unlike Phillips. It's like Arturos keeps drafting project players cause he got lucky drafting Jokic in Denver. Why not draft best player available, this is so f*cking ridiculous!! #FireAKME #FireBillyDonovan #BlowItUp
Doesnât this indicate that weâll be sellers during free agency. Just too many projects on this team, to think we wonât be blowing things up.
Happy we did sum at leastđ
so basically dalen terry
Another bench player who cant shoot. Bulls are trash.
Sanogo might not take alot of threes but he can shoot the 3 ball for a big he shot 36 percentage from deep taking 4 per game
I see the potential
Too late on being negative
The mindset for getting shooting generally is to go after young but experienced veteran in free agency who are proven snipers vs drafting rookies who won't start to provide floor spacing. This way you know they're accustomed to the NBA game vs rookies who may not be nba ready.
Phillips seems to be a replacement for Derrick Jones Jr but with more upside long term.
no one is more backwards than chicago sports
the bears are still stuck in the 80âs paying for linebackers and running the football.
and the bulls are the worst shooting team in the 3 point era.
it makes no sense.
Thanks for not leaving us for your bigger channel. You are the man
AKME gave Lauri away for a bag of potato chips. they arnt competent enough to build a great team let alone a championship team. when will people realize this?
they are worse than Garpax. i know fans donât want to hear this but they are.
garpax build very good teams with chandler curry.
they built the drose team.
they built the jimmy team.
they got lavine and lauri.
what exactly has AKME done? derozen? ayo? ok. they also traded for vuc and gave up lauri which negates both those moves.
We have got to stop throwing out our future draft picks. It's why we were without picks this year. We are not a player away from contending.
The bull? Lol… more like the fools
I canât wait for them to finally pull the trigger but I love the trade of Lavine to the Lakers for the rights to Sam Perkins mom.
This dude had potential if he stayed in college he might of been a lottery pick, he just a raw freshman and the bulls got tremendous value
