I feel like it has been said many times on this sub, but the ownership pushed Connelly into making the Rudy trade. They wanted a big win now splash move. And they got it.
None of us can be confident of who actually was in charge, but Connelly’s actions before and after that trade, from Denver to now, show he is not the one to win making trades like that. He is incredible in the margins, finding value in underrated guys and building culture.
He has to be connected to that Rudy trade, no doubt. But we can’t act like he walked in Day one with that on his list of demands.
ETA: Point to ownership, please. Or at least don’t act like Connelly has changed his mindset. If anything he can double down on what he’s good at
