  1. I think what’s happening here is what we always see. The big city, mainstream media trying to frame the story the direction they want it to go, not necessarily the way it’s actually going. They have wanted to fracture the Zion/New Orleans partnership since day 1 in order to get him to a bigger market, now they are simply seizing on an opportunity to do just that.

What likely happened is the Pelicans were enamored with Scoot Henderson and sought to propose a trade for him. They probably then offered a huge chunk of their stockpile of draft picks and a few of their good young players, not including Zion or Ingram. The media then caught wind of the proposal and said, “Nuh Uh, it’s going to take Zion. Let’s jump on this! Now’s our chance to try yet again to drive a wedge in that partnership. All big city hand’s on deck!”

As wild as this scenario sounds, that’s the state of todays mainstream media. Everything is strategic because all big media is owned by them. Moving Zion to a big city stuffs their pockets. There is a reason why mainstream media is going extinct and online personalities are flourishing. They don’t respect the intelligence of their viewers.

You can kind of see in this video that Windhorst is slowly walking their narrative back and insinuating in very few words, like the fine line at the bottom of a never ending contract, that the Pelicans are not willing to offer Ingram or Zion.

Finally there is no equating Zion to Scoot Henderson. A GM and owner would have to imbeciles to equate those two. Scoot is a great prospect with a good chance to be an All-Star or better in his future, but he is still an upcoming unproven rookie. He has real flaws in his game and size. There might be questions about Zion’s desire to stay fit and he is also very injury prone, but he has already proven to play at an All-Pro level with generational talent upside. That hasn’t left yet and the guy is just 22 years old, the same age as most rookies were just two decades earlier. There is no equating the two at this stage of their careers. Maybe in another two years if Zion still following the same trajectory it’s time to start questioning his value.
