Mavs are the ultimate winners. Not only did they trade bac to dump a bad contract, they still got the person they wanted and needed. Not to mention also because they traded bac, they were able to get a trade exception. They then took that trade exception and took 6’10 power forward Richaurd Holmes from the kings, because the kings wanted to get rid of his contract. Also because of the trade exception they acquired Holmes without giving anything other than his 12 mil for his contract, and because they absorbed that contract they also received the 24th overall pic where they took OMax Prosper, a 6’7 wing with 7’1 wingspan 🤯😱. They traded bac 2 spots and got 2 top 20 players AND got rid of bertans contract 🤯🤯🤯. And even tho Holmes didn’t play much for the kings, he has a different potential with the mavs. He’s a solid roller with finishing skills. As long as he can play competent defense and grab some boards he will also be a steal and have a solid role on this team. If everybody pans out they filled 3 positions of need,got rid of a bad contract, and freed up more than enough money for both Kyrie Irving to resign next week AND a legit role player or two to cap off the roster with the12 million they have in the MLE and whatever the have left over after Kyrie signs. The mavs were able to reconstruct their roster with one move , ain’t no way the spurs are more of a winner than the mavs just because they got wemby, someone that was basically gifted to them 😩😩😩😩

The Spurs being boring narrative was soon fed by the media, and people blindly bought into it. The Spurs system is actually quite the opposite, it’s basketball porn.
As a Mavs fan, it’s not controversial at all to call us winners of the draft. Outside of SA of course, we hands down won the draft IMO. I had little faith going in, I was really surprised with the outcome.

I don’t think Zion got traded, especially for Scoot, because he hasn’t proven he can stay healthy enough to withstand the rigors of an NBA season.
