  1. That's why jamal is ringless, dame has to leave portland . They are not beating denver, suns, lakers, warriors, grizzlies, kings ,etc

  2. Not just in sports but in general loyalty is rarely valued nowadays or not valued at all, especially in business situations.

  3. Same results every year his best chance to win is with Miami , the east is open. Let the west beat each other up.

  4. People act like if Dame leaves Portland he's going to win a ring. Why throw away everything you've built for the POSSIBILITY of winning a ring?

  5. Its indeed tough. Portland got rid if Aldridge, and company to give Dame a contract- but they didnt build around him in the later years.

They trade away his right hand man in C.J. after they coached him up to be a legit #2. And now they're rebuilding the house with Dame still in his room….its time…time to go.

  6. It's not even about chasing rings at this point, they have 4 guards who can't play together and it will stunt the young guys growth if Dame stays.

  7. ESPN and the sports media think they are so slick, the only reason thy want Dame out of Portland is because they want his scoring numbers to come down a bit and that can only happen if Lillard agrees to give up being the main man in portland to go be jimmy butlers sidekick in miami( why doesnt the sports media tell Jimmy to go join dame in portland).

The media was able to trick James Harden into leaving Houston and it has been to hardens detrement ever since he left the rockets. What the media is struggling with now is convincing Lillard who is way more stubborn and might be a tad smarter than James Harden into leaving. Watch at how the media turns on LIllard when he doesnt request a trade. This same sportsmedia that is calling Dame "loyal" will turn on him and start calling him, "selfish" just wait for it

  8. What needs to happen is he gotta bring his own veteran crew. You’re the superstar, then go get the KDs and Drays to come to this team to ride your bandwagon. Thats what all the greats have done to win their chips the past decade, or to even have a chance. If Dame isn’t going to do that, and wants the front office to do all that instead, thats the difference between Dame and the other MVPs.

I believe he wants to stay, and I believe that losing in Portland is frustrating. But the only thing that can change that franchise is Dame. He has to lock in on the goal of staying and then help the front office recruit the FAs, or trade candidates.

  9. Dame has been very well-rewarded for his loyalty…or he would have left before now. Either he sees the possibilities in the direction the Blazers are going or he doesn't. If he doesn't, the Blazers will trade him, maybe not to Miami for the paltry assets they're offering, but somewhere good for both Dame and the Blazers. The Nets can assemble a much more appropriate exchange than Miami, so maybe them. If I were San Antonio I'd pay a lot to have Dame onboard for the first few years of Wemby. But maybe he gets on the court with Scoot and he realizes how much fun he'd be missing…

  10. Dan did they really build around dirk? Really. I wouldn’t call signing a bunch of old vets building around dirk. The Mavs were in the right place at the right time and they caught the heat with their pants down in their first year. Their team wasn’t anything special. If anything that’s why we respect dirk so much. Dallas didn’t really give him that much and he still won. The team blended well together but Dallas never took a huge risk to get dirk anyone on there team. Most of them were 30 year old role players at that point, not co stars in their prime. If anything they hurt dirk by letting his best teammate go in Steve nash.

Did golden state really consciously build around Steph more than Portland did with dame… or did they just pick the right people who happened to be all time greats. And that snowballed into other great things to happen like Kevin Durant coming to you essentially for free.

The issue with Portland vs Golden state was this… after dame got drafted he made the blazers too good too soon. Next year after dame they drafted CJ. The only better player that was better in that estimated range was giannis and he was a compete project.

After that they were essentially drafting in the 20s most years on.

Golden state sucked for 3-4 years after drafting Steph. And that was even with monte Ellis. They were getting booed out of their own arena.

Soo that in turn yielded Klay. And Harrison Barnes. And they got lucky with Draymond becoming something as a second rounder. Then Durant. Sometimes it’s not really the approach that stands out. It’s just who you pick and how the coaches develop them.

  11. Wow, Jamal and I have the EXACT same take. Scoot might surprise us all and trading Dame doesn’t guarantee him crap.

  12. I’m so sick of critics acting like the front office hasn’t tried to surround Dame with talent. What else could they have done? Everytime they tried to snag superstars in FA, the players wouldn’t sign. You can’t force Paul George to come to Portland. You can’t make Kevin Durant sign with you. They would have to do it with existing contracts where the player had no say and in todays modern NBA, players ALWAYS have a say (the superstars anyways).

Dame’s been loyal to Portland but so have the Blazers. Wait it out Dame, see what happens this year, and if the team is as bad or worse, leave next season. You’re not turning 38 this season. Be patient. It’s not everyday Portland actually gets a top pick in a stacked draft.

  13. IMO what folks seem to take as given is that the Blazers have a front office. They don’t. They’ve been exposed since Paul Allen died, and since then they’re completely rudderless as an organization. The ownership doesn’t care. They’ve fallen from the WCF to tanking in a handful of seasons. Fired the coach, fired the GM, let all the vets and FAs walk for NOTHING in return. It’s been a master class in how to fail fast as an organization. They won’t even return Dame’s calls FFS! This isn’t about the ‘front office’ vs. Dame. The fate of this team lies on Jody Allen (sp?) selling the team to ANYBODY ELSE who gives one iota of thought into saving this franchise from disgrace. But… they won’t answer any calls. As a Blazer fan, it’s a crying shame! FREE DAME and SELL the damn team already so Portland can move on. ✌️

  14. Why would he stay there to kill the growth of those young players.. scoot is 6’2.. y’all want them to run two 6’2 guards ?
