Why Kristaps Porzingis makes Celtics best in East, Grizzlies trade for Marcus Smart | Jason McIntyre

Jason McIntyre reacts to the three-team trade that sends Kristaps Porzingis to the Boston Celtics, Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies, and Tyus Jones to the Washington Wizards. Are Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis the best Big 3 in the NBA’s Eastern Conference? Is Marcus Smart the missing piece for Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies? 1. I always click to hear Jason and then remember the other guy joins and I leave. Just can’t with those takes.

  2. Celtics got better on paper but worse on the court. They will regret trading away their heart beat of the team in Smart for a guy in Porzingis that's injury prone and not a good defender.

  3. Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown gonna need to make sacrifices on the court to make this work by taking less shots and be more mid range shooters to space the floor and change their game. KP disrupts boston's chemistry on the offensive end and he's a bit slow of a player. On the defensive end he is a solid anchor, but worse off. They are built now to beat the bucks but will have problems with other teams in the east.

  4. This is the same Porzingis that didn't do squat for the Wizards? Yeah, Jason you missed me with that.

  5. NOW: Celtics possibly moved off declining Marcus, gets AL replacement, Healthy Rob & Draft #25 to develop need!

  6. Let's Go Grizz. I hate 2 see Jones go but we needed a vet that's a Dawg. If Ziaire continues his play from late season it's on

  7. Bro who is this Mexican talking down on the deal hahaha Celtics got KP and 2 first rounders, he has no idea what he is talking about. Probably can’t even play basketball. Where do I send my application to The Volume since they are hiring anybody to speak nonsense 😂😂😂

  8. I've always had faith in porzingis. He just needs the right program to get his body in order and he's a perennial all star.

  9. Celtics still need a leader. Ive always been high on Porzingis but I'm not sure he gives the leadership and ball movement they need.

Until they get that stuff they are gonna get wiped in the east because Spo, Bam and Butler laid the blueprint in how to beat them. Imagine a team as talented as sixers or bucks using that gameplan. Gonna be murder.

Really love Smart on grizz but Adams is going to be sorely missed. We already saw that in the playoffs last year.

  10. Get that other guy off the Video. Says Smart is a huge loss and doesn’t trust D White than proceeds to say Marcus Smart not a playmaker and over ego. Lmaooo a straight hater!

  11. a complete Celtic heist. Derrick White is a much better PG. Al Horford is the Celtics leader

  12. Jason mac needs to pick a better partner. This guy has zero concept on how the Celtics operate.

  13. KP have a lot of leadership skills, as he leads Latvian National Team. Everyone afraid about his injuries. This was clear misunderstood. When he arrive to NBA nobody knows how to handle phisics of 7.3 unicorn. New york start to boost extra body weight, which was huge mistake because he continue to grow in same time and get injuries. Then in Dallas they change body tactics and now in 27 .when he is finaly grown, feels optimal in his weight and muscles , play much smarter and work with his weight and legs in right way. He have same risk to get injury as anyone else in NBA. He will be brilliant piece of Celtics. Hes attitude and work ethics was excellent. And if not Dallas who is obsessed with Luka who didnt give a ball to anyone and coach put Unicorn in Corner wich was nuts. If Boston plays as team then Porzingis will be best fit for them for long run.

  14. No。The point is that you cannot let your 4th best player (Smart) be your team leader. That will fail. This deal will force Tatum to be the team leader. If he cannot fit that role, the Celtics will fail with or without Smart.
People ae saying Green is the heart and soul of GSW, but the true leader of the team is always Curry. Green's authority is handed by Curry.

  15. Wood from Dallas is over 40% on 3 and is free agent 1/2 of CP salary – does not get hurt as well. If you want offence before defence Wood is better option.

  16. Don’t understand why y’all are so focused on the two firsts Memphis gave up, it’s pick 25 this year and unless Golden State absolutely collapses next year, that pick will be in the late 20’s too. We got Smart, who I’d argue has been better than Porzingis, seeing as it took 8 years for Porzingis to finally put up a good season.

  17. Desmond Bane became an incredible shot creator this season, and Jaren Jackson can score from literally all over the floor. Marcus Smart is also an incredible playmaker. Do you even watch the NBA or do you just say stupid shit?

  18. Not sure who the other guy is but he don’t really understand basketball. Just pure emotions and his Opinions…BREAKDOWN:

    1. Memphis has TONS of first round draft picks. The ones they gave up was the bottom of the pack of the first round, nothing major. They pick up another DPOY that starting with another DPOY. Memphis defense was already top 5 with JJJ and DB, it just got much better. It’s more to a trade/player then offense. He’s the Vet and his leadership needed to grow Memphis. He also won’t take as many shots as DB which means more shots to efficient players. Smart PG duties will be minimal Especially when Ja on the court. Tyus Jones had to go, he has an injury souring contract and wanted to a start, Memphis did him a solid and gave him that AND he can collect his bag.

    2. Wizards are going full rebuild mode and great job to them for doing so. The next 3 classes are full of talented and surely will get a great player while also freeing up cap space. They’ll have one of the largest cap space available in the upcoming future.

    3. Celtics are entering uncharted territory. They just lost there leader and locker room voice. We never seen Tatum in leadership role now it’s officially his team, the good and the bad. Now Tatum and Brown need to figure out who’s 1st option and who’s 2nd. Celtics got deeper and better but it’s all on KP health and if history is true, the Celtics may have got fleeced.

  19. Boston's been the team to beat in the east for a while now. But they keep getting beat 😂

  20. Zinger makes Boston more questionable & Brittle, more questions than answers Boston is the favorite for ECF failure again…!!! Walsh sucks🚮🚮🗑️🗑️🗑️

  21. People should stop talking about Smart being an emotional leader ok he was but not enough to make them play the defense they needed the last 2 years in the playoffs everybody should slow down with that
