Mavs are close to beating no assets allegations
Brown would be awesome but it kinda makes Green expendable.
Would be an amazing get; good vibes, playoff experience at a relatively young age, and he’s able to step in as a secondary ball handler and a point of attack defender which the Mavs lack badly; also with the MLE they would be able to offer him more than what Denver’s max offer of 1 yr 7.8 million
getting Brown and maybe sign and trading for a bigger starting caliber 3-4 would be as good of an offseason as we could’ve hoped for; trying not to set my expectations too high though since as we all know we’ve been burned way too much
I like Brown, but feel like he could get more than the MLE. Also would prefer to target a 4, whereas he is kinda small for that.
So it could be assumed that if they can grab bruce, they will try and package a trade for a larger wing defender to guard the 4.
Just love how we’re clearly looking to hoard positive assets. Our current state of affairs is night and day compared to just a week ago.
I’d rather go after Naz Reid or another big, but Bruce Brown seems to fit like a glove as well. I’d assume Reggie’s days are numbered and Bruce would fill that role.

I am pretty sure that this isn’t true anymore after we took the Holmes contract.
We did ineed get the full MLE after shedding Bertans contract, but then again lost that ability after accepting the Holmes salary dump.
We only cleared about 2.3M overall, that’s not enough.
Id rather stick with josh, hes improved every year and Dallas needs to give him consistency in his role to build his confidence. Seeing how he guarded KD, showed just how good hes gotten and he can score when needed.
Would rather use that money for Naz Reid.
The gal between Reid and our big is far greater than Brown and Green/Hardy.
Who didn’t like Bruce: KD or Kyrie?
Would love to have him but it’s really hard for me to see him leave Denver unless he really cares about the money more than running it back

He’s a great player, but I do think there are teams that would be willing to go to at least 15 for him.
Unless the Mav’s have a move planned in order to trade THJ for a starting PF, Brown doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
Bertans gives nothing to the Mavs. There are a ton if gLeague guys that could help them with defense if they are unable to sign someone
From what I’ve seen, if Kyrie gets the max, the Mavs are about 5M short of the full MLE.
So either Kyrie takes less money, or the Mavs need a way to shed 5M…

It sounds kind of like if you aren’t above a threshold by a certain date you are allowed to go over that threshold by $13M or something?
