O-Max is a high-level athlete. Check out his flexibility and how low to the ground he gets on this drive. Although he didn’t handle much at Marquette, he should be good at putting the ball on the floor in the NBA.

IMHO those handles don’t look clean enough to attempt to do in the NBA.

  2. Useless_Citizen_Guy

His handles are way too loose to attempt that in the NBA. But it doesn’t matter too much. All he needs to do is play good defense and make 3s

He’s in the kawhi leonard arch type and you can’t tell me any different

Extremely high level athlete. *Killed* it at the combine (top 5 in just about every test), and shot up draft boards from fringe second, to solid second, to late first round. If he’s as smart, and coachable as the pre-draft interviews made him sound… watch out.

Super excited to have him, and Lively to go along with Hardy, and Green. Our pantry looks well stocked.

I’m just excited to have a player with his body (pause) on the team to defend wings. Dude is thick.

He reminds me a lot of Miles Bridges. Good defender, not much of a ball handler, extremely raw, but hyper athletic.

He said in an interview he was a guard before college, so hopefully he can gradually add some off the dribble stuff in the NBA.

On a related note I’m also curious about his arsenal/tendency of fakes — probably something he developed as a guard — I’ve seen it criticized a bit in some draft profile as preventing him from being more decisive going to the basket, but on the other hand that’s the type of stuff that gives you hope that he can eventually develop into a well-rounded offensive player.

His movements are all jerky and strange like Kyle Anderson. He’s probably going to be super annoying for opposing teams to play against

  9. LetMeTakeAGlance

Yeah he drove on a future dentist. Hope he’s an impact in his rookie season.

As long has he doesnt lose the ball when Luka passes it to him out of a double teams thats all that matters. It looks like he can at least dribble better than Bullock.

Yea OP… he *might* be good at putting on the floor later down the line. Rn, it’s not looking too hot

Not great handles but those arms look amazing. His length is going to be an instant impact even if he’s just playing some D, hitting a couple open 3s and moving in transition

carried his ass off but i see the vision. maybe shammgod could work with that

they didn’t bring him here to do this (i hope).

Canadian here – many of us have watched O-Max for years on Canadian tournaments and national team qualifiers.

First off – he is raw. He will cough it up, dribble it off his feet, have unforced turnovers and be very frustrating at times. He has good footwork but he’s going to take time to develop a consistent offense. Shot isn’t that bad in terms of mechanics.

    But…

It’s because he’s basically a Golden Retriever out there. He’s almost too excited to play each game so he can’t contain it. He plays with such a joy and such incredible hussle that it’s infectious. He takes defense personally. He blocks like he is spinning a volleyball. He rallies the troops and encourages his teammates. He has zero attitude and doesn’t care if he gets a single shot attempt. He’s basically Marcus Smart, if Marcus Smart knew he shouldnt be taking shots.

You guys are going to LOVE him.
