Knicks will not exercise option on Derrick Rose's contract. Rose was beloved by Thibs and the organization, had a diminished role on the court but was a pro throughout his benching, a voice in the locker room, and this will give him a chance to explore available opportunities.

Rose would add a much needed vet/leader to the team.
This is like when I heard Kemba Walker was good and we paid him 66 million for two years. The guy is washed.

Bring in Pat Bev as a backup PG (insurance for Brogans 20 or so games he’ll miss) who’s an agitator and plays with heart. No one will ever fill the void but he’d become an instant fan favourite
In principle, I don’t mind taking a reserve D Rose to sit on the bench and get a ring playing 2 mins a game. In practice, there’s nothing he adds because he can’t stay that healthy, and we need real depth more than we need vibes. So no for me.
