Like getting rid of Smart, I think The Ringer needs to let KOC go to make room for Bill’s dad.
Gobert took less rhan the supermax.
Smart lost them more games than he won for them. Was that because of the structure of the offense or his own hubris is another question.
Damn Bill’s dad needs to let the hair go lol
bill’s dad lookin like einstein
Who's going to replace Smart's toughness? Tatum and Brown are not going to transform overnight into tough, hard-nosed leaders. Celts gained talent, yes, but they lost toughness.
my lead ball handler is the anti nash
good riddance
bring back Rajon
and bring in Markquise Nowell
I was a huge fan of Smart in pre draft workouts. Dude was a 6'4" 220lbs combo guard that had all the talent to be a good offensive weapon (best as a 3rd option) but the size and tenacity to be able to be an on ball stopper defensively…and guard multiple positions (1-3). I knew that if he got the jumpshot down to be a threat to make open shots…he was going to be a good guard in the league. To me, boston is going to miss having him on the team. Yes, they needed a big badly, but I wouldn't have given up Smart for the big. I would have kept Smart and Tatum…everyone else was fair game in my mind.
Maybe they can get Kelly Oubre Jr to sign ML
Absolutely LOVED this show! Just subscribed!
You guys hit every point about Smart on the head! Please back off with the Jaylen Slander, the man cut his hand open right before the playoffs. Had a hamstring issue which was visible if you were paying attention. Give him some Grace. He will show the world how great he truly is.?
im with u on smart, had a bad year imo compared to his d a year prior
Willy Wonka grandpa 😂
Less Bricks
They health concern hand wringing is too much… nearly every star has health concerns: Durant, zion, kawhi, PG, cp3, Murray, Mitchell, Butler, harden, embiid, Giannis, lavine, booker, AD, hell even LeBron and Lillard aging out.
Tatum and Jokic are the two stars that haven't really been hurt… yet.
You cant predict injuries, other than age and guys aging out. Smart is on the decline. KP is a risk. Everyone is a risk.
Good Trade!
TRADE BROWN, goddammit!!! he aint worth the max. he's never gonna be one of the alltime greats and in a few years, a new englander, amix of cowens and bird, cooper flagg has to play for the celtics. he is cowens/bird.
Smart for KP and 2 first round picks is a no brainer. Smart is 29 got cooked over and over in the playoffs and his game relies a lot on falling down. If KP is healthy tje celtics have an insane 5 out line up. If hes not they still got 2 picks and off a contract they cant afford with the new cba.
Jaylen is *not* a top 30. not even be top 50. him being 2nd team all-NBA over Haliburton, Brunson, and Trae was just laughable. Celts would be so much better off giving the supermax to Porzingis, he's the clear 2nd best on the team, and honestly not far off Tatum.
Bills Dad taking time out of a busy day of discovering general relativity to talk sports ball
El Papa de Bill♥
I will say this: My fantasy team last season gained from Horford getting overused.
Bruh Bill Dad look like he lives in a basketball museum lol
I gotta be honest I thought bills dad would have been stumpier
So awesome when Bill's dad is on.
Bill your father reminds me of someone and I can't quite put my finger on it.. Albert Einstein? He kind of looks like him lol. Seems like he's a very wise man. Considering he's been watching basketball for over 50 years I think it's safe to say he is very tapped in to the game.
Love to see him on more. But I totally understand it's your family and he's getting older. He brings an interesting and intelligent perspective not usually seen on the Internet. Half the people under the age of 20 would have their head explode just trying to understand his knowledge. All they know is Lebron and Curry and they think basketball was invented when Kobe and Shaq started winning titles. It's a real shame how dumb the newest generation is. So arrogant and so dumb at the same time.
Case in point (baseball related but makes my point anyway). I was arguing with some dumbass the other day who claimed Randy Johnson Pedro Martinez and Roger Clemens wouldn't even make a rotation in 2023. As if they pitched in 1920. Apparently these kids are under the impression that pitching science and medical advancements have come so far in 15 years that PEDRO MARTINEZ wouldn't make a rotation. My head nearly exploded. Then he had the nerve to say he was pitching to accountants. That's when I realized I was wasting my time and he was either trolling or just too dumb to reason with. He was pitching and putting up the best numbers possibly ever going up against literal super heroes who made the bat look like a tooth pick. And hit the ball 600 feet if they connected. How can you call yourself a fan and be so dismissive/ignorant about the history of the game? It's barely even history at this point!!!!!! Pedro pitched in the 2009 world series for fucks sake!!!
I hate these kids. Men have periods women get people pregnant and Barry Bonds was a scrub. True insanity.
Smart was the best guard in the playoffs no question. White got bounced around like a pinball after round one
Bill’s dad has takes that show how much he sees basketball in person.
not a major point in this, but funny hearing jackie macmullan and simmons complain about brown/smart's first quarter turnovers and be completely silent about tatum's 4th quarter turnovers
It seems sort of clear that once the Brogdon deal fell through that Boston had probably been asked by memphis about smart, and were likely interested in tyus as a replacement for a point. But since the deal was last minute, they couldn’t get tyus and he was sent over to Washington instead. Would make way more sense if he was included for the Celtics since now they lack a playmaking point and tyus would have filled that role well
We need a The Town re-rewatchables!
Alternative title: Celtics lose Smart, become smarter.
Remember when everyone thought the Celtics were gonna win the championship cause they got Malcolm brogdon?
Bills Dad is a better analyst than JJ Reddick annoying ass
it was not Smart decision
Since when is Malcolm Brogdon a SG?! Sorry, Dad, that is pretty much nonsense..
The close up of bills dad makes this so much better
