He was known as a ball-stopping flopper to most outside of Boston prior to this game. No one else in the league could have done something like this sequence, and those who weren’t familiar with his game got to see what makes the Celtics and their fans value Marcus so much.
He changed a lot of hearts and minds after this game.
I was at this game. Boston was losing since the tip off…. The excitement just being down 7 on a big run was outrageous. I’ve called Horford “Big Shot Al” ever since this game.
Man, really gunna miss Marcus’ IQ on defense. Gunna be rooting for him in Memphis. He’s just the right kind of guy to fix the culture down there. Thanks for everything you did in Boston.
