Should we make a serious offer for Vasilije Micić?

Looks like the OKC Thunder have his draft rights but no role for him, so they’re shopping him around. I don’t know too much about him, but he’s a 6’5″ PG who’s 29 (in his prime), shoots 3’s decently, and is a primary playmaker with a long list of accolades in the EuroLeague (2x champ, 1x MVP). We have a spot at PG to fill, we’ll need a vet to help George and Sensabaugh if Clarkson does not return, and we have the assets that OKC might want (i.e., picks) to make a deal happen.

> According to Thunder beat writer Brandon Rahbar “he seems willing to come down a bit on his contract, role and the caliber of team desires. Nobody knows yet if he’ll play with OKC or be traded to another team.” Previously it was said he wanted 6-7 million, starter-level minutes and to be playing for a contending team.

Additionally, if we pay this upfront fee to obtain his draft rights, the contract won’t be too large. The only concern is that he wants to play for a contender, and I don’t know if we can ensure that just yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if Denver makes a play for him because he’s also Serbian, though it’s unclear if that’s the type of role he wants, i.e., playing around Jokic.
