  1. Masai is smart. He knows teams who want to improve will be under pressure as the summer goes on to improve. Teams will strike out in free agency or those with space will get one player but need to add more.

The Blazers for instance are saying they want to keep Dame and Scoot. Well they need to improve or Dame is gone.

The only reason Siakim doesn’t want to leave the Raptors is so he can try for all NBA again and get a super max. He’s being selfish but you can’t blame him as its a big difference in money.

Simons + Sharpe for Siakim might happen just give us a few weeks. Plus once certain teams improve there will be an arms race.

We will get clarity by July 7th a week into free agency. They will know is Fred is gone and if Poeltl is back.

  2. This Raptors team beat the championship team Denver Nuggets easily the one time they beat us is when the referee bailed them out by ejecting the players off the floor for talking to himself and when we face them on a even fair play we beat them easily by 15-20 points we are better than the championship team

  3. They’re right about one thing and it’s that this team doesn’t make sense. Pascal and Scottie is just not a good fit. They’re just too similar in terms of what they can, and can’t do. Both of them are not really good outside shooters in a league today where shooting is basically essential. I have yet to see a team win with to 2 stars that don’t really shoot the ball well from outside. One of them have to go, and it’s most likely pascal because he’s already 30 years old. It’s like trying to build a team around Ayton and Gobert. You just don’t need both of them.

  4. Sorry but disagree with Bruce on his take that raptors are looking to move pascal…all these rumours about him are coming from outside and raps has not shown any sign of moving anyone. Bruce may think it’s better for raps to move him and go younger but there’s no indication of raptors going that route…

  5. This podcast is always just old white guys reading the headline topics of reddit. It almost sounds AI generated. It's like listening to my grandfather explain to me how the internet works.

  6. What is all this negative talk about Pascal and Scottie? What do the commenters and broadcasters mean that they cannot play together because they cannot shoot the 3? NONSENSE.

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were almost identical players and they worked out just fine. At this stage in his career (32.7%), Pascal is literally a better three point shooter than both those Hall of Famers. Like give me a break. In his first five years, Jordan shot between 13.2% and 27.6% from 3. Pippen shot between 17.4% and 30.9% from 3. Even Barnes shot better in his first year than both Jordan and Pippen did on average over their first 5/6 years. haha. Come on now!!

Jordan and Pippen shot almost the same from 3 during their careers (32.6 vs 32.7). But again, look at their early numbers, they were GARBAGE. Neither of them shot better than 31% from 3.

Field goal percentage (47.3% vs 49.7%)

    Rebounds (4.6 vs 6.2)

    Assists (6.4 vs 5.3)

Jordan and Pippen were almost identical players (both on offense and defense). The main difference was Jordan had a superior killer instinct. Moreover, Jordan's numbers were greater than Pippen in most scoring categories because Pippen took over the main role on defense. I would venture to say that Jordan would not have been Jordan without Pippen (and vice-versa). Jordan was a killer, ONLY because Pippen gave him the freedom to be.

I see no difference with Scottie and Pascal. You need both players to win. Just as Kawhi needed Pascal, Barnes will soon need Siakam or he will NEVER develop to become a dangerous player. And less we forget, free agents aren't jumping over themselves to come to Toronto.

So I repeat why are people up in arms about Pascal? And Scottie's shooting issues for that matter? It takes more than a 3 point jumpshot to win games. It took Jordan and Pippen literally 7 years to be AVERAGE three point shooters. It took Pascal 3. And less we forget Barnes just completed his 2nd year. Even at that, for a non-shooter he shot better from 3 than Jordan did in year 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 (17.3%, 16.7%, 18.2%, 13.2% and 27.6%). Jordan didnt learn to shoot 3 until year 6. So annoying.

Fortunately, Raptor management and Siakam dont listen to these Siakam haters and doubters. Stop it people.

  7. Other than team chemistry this team is worth saving. Fred will be very difficult to sign as he is coveted by many of the most high profile teams in the NBA. If Fred departs I am not sure where they go for a point guard. Grady Dick is a pure shooter and decent value for # 13. Defense with Dick is a substantial issue and a long term concern. Despite that Dick is worth the gamble as they are desperate for players who can shoot. Things are about to get interesting. July 01 looms large.
