Why are the dates so weird?

    2017 to 2019 and then 2018 to 2020? that doesn’t make sense

Ooh a Fred slander post with stats to back it up.

Brace yourself for massive upvotes, OP.

He played garbage time in 2017. He was injured in 2018. In 2019 & 2020 I thought he played pretty well, he was about the same as he was in the regular season at least. Then in 2022 he was injured again.

The main issue with Fred is that he wears down as the season progresses. It’s been a consistent theme with him. The first half of the 2021-2022 season he was amazing and worthy of the all-star nod, but then an injury derailed his season.

Masai mentioned in his end of season press conference that (I’m paraphrasing here) when Fred’s body is right he’s right. Him playing pretty much the most minutes in the league the past two years has only exacerbated the issue.

I’m not Fred apologist either. I’m okay with him leaving if we can get a decent return in a sign-and-trade.

Teams hunt him specifically on defence in the playoffs, he is a pretty good team defender but 1on1 or on ball he struggles nowadays and of course his size doesn’t help. As long as teams continue to bully him, he will be a liability the same way non shooters can be liabilities in the playoffs.

Stats with zero context or comparison to show what average is…What does a score of -1.43 even mean?

Feel like this would matter more if us being in the playoffs was, you know, a guarantee

lol as if we’re in a position to even think about the playoffs risers/droppers on our team

Siakam hasn’t been great in the post season either since Kawhi left.

  9. Well the raps missed the playoffs 2 of those seasons. What good is a 3 year trend that has 1 year of data? Also he was hurt in the Philly series (the one year of data) last year and played like it. So ya he was horrible and stats should back that up.

    Also,
Sharing a stat no one can see without a subscription and it is supposed to mean something?

He’s been a pretty bad playoff perform and when he struggles his struggles are so clearly team-killing… *but* he’s had two amazing playoff series, and those were the conference finals and the finals in 2019. He pretty much swung that Bucks series in the Raptors favour. There is no title without Fred VanVleet.

He’s one of the most overrated players in the league. People love a little guy underdog but enough is enough. This dude can’t stay with no one let alone go over a screen. His ass burns 11- 15 sec off the clock for bo God dam reason the jacks the last sec shot which is why he’s a 30% shooter. He has to jack it last minute cause he can’t put shit up if a good defender is on him. Foh bye bye Fredbrick

he isn’t a starter on a serious team that’s the reality

He was a roleplayer coming off the bench who Masai moved to the starting point guard position after Lowry left. His ideal role is coming off the bench as a SG and secondary playmaker. No team with Fred making $30 million per season is competing for a title. The man forgets how to shoot in the playoffs.
