Fron the [article](https://www.spurstalk.com/latest-intel-victor-wembanyama-spurs-draft/) before draft day
>According to a source associated with Metropolitans 92, Wembanyama’s French team, the 7-foot-5 center recently had a meeting with the Spurs to discuss his vision for how he wants his first year in the NBA to play out. The most notable request from Wembanyama was that he wants to play in every possible game. The source told me the Spurs responded by telling Wembanyama that the franchise agrees with his vision and will do everything they can to make that happen.

>Shortly after San Antonio won the lottery, I wrote that I thought the Spurs should use his rookie season to slowly but surely [build his endurance](https://www.spurstalk.com/victor-wembanyama-san-antonio-spurs-thoughts/). I envisioned the Spurs sitting Wembanyama in back-to-back situations when it made sense to try to keep him healthy. However, it sounds like Wembanyama isn’t interested in a slow approach.

>The source explained that Wembanyama was very proud of the fact he didn’t miss a game this season. If he wants to keep his ironman streak alive in his rookie season, it sounds like the Spurs won’t get in his way.

Vic big dick energy
Kid just loves the game, really cool to see. Hopefully as he experiences playoffs later in his career he understands the need to stay healthy for that, but right now go for it!
I wonder what his minutes will be, he averaged 18 last season and 32 this season. Also notably he said he really struggled with the minutes against Ignite and he played 37 minutes then.
When is the last time someone on the Spurs played 82 games?

I just realized that Wemby being on the Spurs means that we’re never going to see him on ESPN and TNT because they’re probably going to sit him for every big matchup
I would hope so bro. He’s young lol. I’m hoping he can play in every game possible. Excited to see him
sounds risky especially if he wants to play 30+ mpg
The natural circlejerk around Wemby made me not like him, because I tend not to like players that everyone is dickriding.
However from his interview with JJ Reddick, kid looks extremely committed to the game, and doesn’t seem he’ll get caught up in the lifestyle like some of the American young stars.
Wish him the best, though I still have a lot of skepticism in his jumpshot.
Don’t rest the rookie if he isn’t injured, makes sense.
So dominant even goes for the Attendance Award
As a huge fan of Load Management I am super bummed.
Wemby: “Every game possible.”
Pop: “Sure, but there’s already no possibility of argument if I say you’re not playing.”
Wemby playing checkers, Pop counters by playing an Instant sorcery card.
I hope he hasn’t just jinxed himself
Good for him, but the fact that something like that even needs to be verbalized is an indictment on where we’re at as a society and a league.
Well, that’s not gonna happen right? Maybe 72 games max?
Listened to his appearance in the JJ Redick podcast. This dude has legit character and a love for the game. Only thing that can stop him from being a legend is injury.
I’d be surprised if he eclipsed 70 even if totally healthy, i imagine they keep as much tread on the tires until the timeline becomes evidently clear.
Wemby was shocked when JJ Redick told him the Spurs invented load management
Players who load management still get hurt. Load management doesn’t work. So let him play. Just keep his minutes in the low 30s
No Load Management? Popovich doesn’t like it
Does anyone know if the 65 game minimum applies to ROTY as well? If so, I imagine that’s a good target number for Vic to play
Who plays in more games this year him or Chet?
Wish they would find a middle ground for load management.
Maybe just designate 20 games where a particular player will only be playing in the second half. That would be better then 10 games where a fan shows up and the star is not playing.
Zion had one request, to eat at Golden corral in all 50 states
They’ll probably keep his minutes on the lower side then. Something like 28-32? I can’t imagine the Spurs of all orgs not playing it more safe with him.
DNP-Tank 4 Wemby
I don’t even wanna speak it into existence but I’m worried this approach is going to wreak havok on his longevity. Dudes that big just aren’t built with knees that can support the kind of workload that smaller players can endure
Pop hearing this and crumbling his plans up and throwing them in the office waste basket.
Bro is playing 65 games. No more, no less.
Pop: “Yes kid, you will play in every possible game of those that I allow you to play”.
I love this. I hate how players are babied today. You should be playing 82 games. I don’t want to hear this load management garbage any more. For an older guy like Lebron, maybe. Injury prone guy (which is not common), sure. 95% of the league should be ready to go every day.
