Zion & B.I. aren’t on the trade block, as we said

Big Q reacts and covers the latest trade rumors surrounding Pelicans and scandal hit star Zion Williamson.

The rumors started flying a week ago when The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on the Pelicans’ interest in moving up in this year’s draft to acquire G League Ignite prospect Scoot Henderson. With the Pelicans owning the 14th pick, a move up to the top-3 would almost certainly require New Orleans to include one of its two young stars — Williamson or Brandon Ingram — to get a deal done.

From there, speculation about Williamson’s future with the Pelicans has run rampant. There have been new reports from different sources daily about the likelihood of Zion being on the move and the level of interest New Orleans would have in making such a deal.

Ultimately, Zion getting traded before Thursday’s draft is fairly unlikely, multiple league sources tell The Athletic. Each was granted anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss potential trades.

  1. He was not speaking out of both sides of his mouth; as I heard it, there’s a subtle nuance. 1) Zion is not on the trade block, certainly not up for auction and available league-wide. 2) However, and separately, “if” Scoot becomes available it would be considered. Perhaps you might put your biases aside; and at least acknowledge the distinction. Nothing shameful about it; and nothing you said proves otherwise. 🛑

  2. I'm just team see what happens cause nobody literally knows what happens the media might be right pelicans report might but we literally have to wait and see what happens

  3. They said Aaron Nelson's role might change. Not that he's been confirmed demoted. Brandon Ingram also missed a lot of games with the Lakers. Sometimes it's the player. Staff can only do so much.

  4. Chris Haynes said Zion is available and Scoot wants to be in New Orleans. It’s basically up to Portland at this point if they want Zion, to pursue another star, or rebuild with Scoot.

  5. Lmao how many times you gonna call that man Wendy Windhorst lol it’s Brian “Windy”Windhorst. 😅

  6. Reminds me of what Denzel Washington said; that the news is concerned about competing to be first rather than being true.

  7. When it comes to Pelicans and Blazers it makes more since for Pelicans to target Damian and convince Blazers to rebuild with their 3rd pick while offering them anybody besides BI and Zion and a bunch of picks they already have from other teams.

  8. Big Q they had one YouTube blogger who said no one deserves to play in New Orleans. So I ask him why would you say that, I told him we love basketball too. Wtf bro

  9. Big Q also says that Zion has no communications with the organization or teammates. How true is that? Would you mind looking into that for me I'd like to know.

  10. If Pels are considering a trade for Scoot, Zion or BI may be available.
What Windhorst is saying is Pels are not trying to dump Zion for any deal they can get, only to get Scoot.
Trade will not happen, Charlotte will go with the cheap pick to match with LaMelo. Portland will reset the franchise with pick #3 & a Dame trade.
Why trade for Zion or BI at their salaries & with their injury issues unless it makes you an instant contender, for these teams it won't.

  11. classic double speak. thank you for calling it out. i never followed the mills i knew we wasnt trading him

  12. He used “if”… I don’t know what you talking about. You projecting your issues. HOW PELICANS ARE BENEFITING ZION?? What did he do other than been FAT AND INJURED..???
