It’s far fetched but even if we do get him . What we going to do with Tari, kj, and whitmore ?
Offer up 4/100 and let them match and mess up their cap flexibility. This kid is not worth 25m annually.

We should try to make them match it and lock up their cap, not try and nab him. He ain’t moving the needle for them IMO. Only team to get swept in the first round playoffs this year.
Also don’t forget GSW did this with 3 time champion Patrick McCaw – “prepared to match any offer,” then let him walk for chump change. The difference in these two players is great, but this method can still work as “beneficial” smokescreen to get someone paid. It’s not like Cam will hate the Nets for saying we’re prepared to make him a 100 mil richer.
It makes more sense to offer Austin Reeves that contract since he better fits our needs and LA is in the west.
The real question is if we sign him, what happens to Tari/Bari/KMJ/Whitmore?
Cam is a glorified role player and not worth more than $20 million a year. He won’t score more than 15-20 a game, which I expect Tari to do this year anyways. Tari is a superior defender and worth starting.
We need to save our money for next year.
I’m glad this is being said (even if it’s a smokescreen) cause I’m so tired of people in this sub just thinking we will easily sign him away. Bkn also has cap space and no incentive to tank. It’s gonna be an overpay for an RFA
