Big mistake running it back especially with FVV. Almost certainly a risky overpay. It seems that the FO continues to play Russian roulette with contracts, player options and the like. Think Gary and Fred which both of these facts mentioned when they last signed. Yes they lucked out with Gary but the odds will catch up to them by someone leaving or forcing a significant overpay.
Next summer we could easily find that the FO wasted another year in Scottie's development and rookie contract.

It’s disappointing that these guys keep trying to trade Gary Trent jr when he actually wants to stay with the Raptors.
I hope Poetyl signs with the Spurs. It would force Masai to do a proper retool. Were running back a team that was life and death to make the playoffs. Maybe we scrape in maybe we dont but we sacrificed a 1st rd pick to do it. Just retool around Scottie already.
Still believe Fred's gone. They are basically adding 3 guys at the 2-3-4 position. Gradey, Otto who didn't play, and Achiuwa playing more and more at PF. That means they need to make room as none of the 8 guys they have at 2-3-4 are deep bench players. So Barnes goes to starting PG. Boucher traded for a backup guard. Leaving OG, Trent, Otto, Achiuwa, Gradey, Siakam as the 2-3-4 guys with some time as backup 5s for Poeltl and Koloko as the main centers.
Fred wasn't a point guard anyway, and attempting to make him one only hurt everyone's shooting stats due to his inaccuracy and slow pace of play.
or they could keep Fred and see Gradey become a 30% shooter and wishing he had his highschool pg making the passes to him instead.
