The John Collins Trade Is HILARIOUS

John Collins has been traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Utah Jazz, and the trade itself is hilarious.

  1. I can understand why the Hawks did the trade, but holy hell – they could have easily gotten at least a FIRST round pick

  2. Saying before watching, but I feel like a lot of these salary dump trades have to do with how the salary cap will be working starting next season. Thereā€™s already been three trades of teams getting pennies worth back for players that are long and somewhat expensive to expensive, to clear cap.

  3. I feel like Johnson could be more valuable than Collins for Atlanta as PF over the next few seasons. Heā€™s already a better defender a good athlete and lobcatcher as well and is developing his 3pt shot. Also during the season either AJ or Johnson were missing out of the rotation. Both are talented and have upside so now they both will get heavily increased minutes which will hopefully pay off soon. As a Hawks Fan this deal still is disappointing but I feel this scenario isnā€™t unlikely to happen

  4. It wasnā€™t for nothing! Karl Maloneā€™s cell phone number too! Only thing worst to happen to Atlanta, is Shermanā€™s march. Thank you basketball gods!

  5. I think the verdict is still out on the whole Jordan Poole / Chris Paul Golden State Warriors plan. If they keep Chris Paul and I think it's kind of a 50/50 thing but if they keep Chris Paul they save a few million bucks and get a really good team leader and a stable force for their future. Also he's one of many guards for that team so they can closely control his minutes so that he can try to avoid the injury issues that have been destroying the latter half of his career. People need to remember that this was a player that lead Phoenix to the finals two years ago and played very well during that stretch. On the other hand this is the Warriors third or fourth error in the last 2 years and for a team that was well known for having the best management and coaching it is a little disarming and perhaps the change to Mike dunleavy Jr was necessary. James Wiseman was a mistake. Perhaps kuminga was a mistake. That one is still going on. Thinking that they had the next Steph Curry on their team and overpaying Jordan Poole to play like shit in the playoffs was a massive mistake. The Warriors are very lucky that because of the wizards taking that contract they are basically breaking even with a chance to get Draymond Green back for the final part of his career. So the question is if they can sign the core and are forced to give up on the development of the next Warriors team because of some bad decisions then who else do they go after and can they make a deep playoff run this season. I think if Wiggins can get his life together and come back for a full season next year and nobody gets hurt then I think the Warriors are up there in the top three with Phoenix and Denver. I'm still not sold on the grizzlies and I see them being about a four through six next year and maybe even starting a little bit of a slide down because we all know eventually that ja Morant is going to get seriously injured. He's got a Derek Rose career written all over his story and I don't want it to happen but the way he plays you can just tell its going to and if that happens what happens to the grizzlies? If Marcus Smart couldn't lead that Boston team to a title how in the hell is he going to do it in Memphis. I think the Warriors next move is the biggest move and I have no idea what it's going to be. I'm not including signing green to an extension as the last move because there has to be one more player. I would like to see khris Middleton as a dub. That team with a healthy Wiggins battle for a championship.

  6. I was at a retirement seminar and the speaker spoke on how he quit his job after he made well over $950,000 PROFIT within 3months he invested $120,000. I just need creative ideas to afford my retirement

  7. this guy looks like he should be on bumble gum packaging lol

  8. As a Jazz fan Iā€™m apparently a lot less optimistic about this than you all are. I donā€™t get the point of this trade.

Thereā€™s no way that we would trade for Collins to have him come off the bench. And I doubt that itā€™s Walker Kessler who would be taken out of the lineup because a lineup of Collins Hendricks and Markannen in whatever order is basically a lineup of three scoring 4s.

So then what happens? Are we gonna gave Taylor Hendricks coming off the bench? Fuck dude. What a great way to destroy the potential of a young star, have them come off the bench.

I donā€™t think itā€™s allowed in the NBA to immediately trade John Collins after heā€™s been traded, so this seems to me that weā€™re either gonna trade Hendricks or Markannen, and I throw up in my mouth at the idea of giving up either unless we get crazy draft pick value.

  9. One of the GOATs in off-season trade rumors. Now maybe the Pacers will trade Myles Turner and Buddy Hield

  10. A few months ago teams were sending out 1st round picks for a half eaten pack of skittles and 63 cents, now john collins is getting traded for a 2nd round pick. The nba is weird as hell man.

PS: never shave your face again.

  11. Collins will surprise next year. He wasn't featured at all in Atlanta. If he is in Utah, then he can be an all star.

  12. I can see it now, tons of star players will be unemployed years from now unless maybe the expansion happens

  13. Danny Ainge is a Menace.
    Terrible trade.
Bro is a Starter and they got a Vet thatā€™s had an Achilles injury and 2nd round pick that doesnā€™t make u better right now.
    Hawks Front office is tripping.

  14. I only feel sorry for Collins because he has to move to boring ahhh yooouuutahh. From magic city to tragic and shiddy. Good luck john the baptist. Maybyou continue to posterize bigs.

  15. Gsw didnā€™t want Poole, has little to do with new CBA but they had major buyer remorse for a negative player.

  16. Let this sink in that the jazz finessed the Nets, wolves, cavs and Atlanta
Theyā€™ve just got better than these 4 teams within seconds

  17. Collins will be missed and I think it will definitely affect the team. He had an off season last year and his numbers were lower, but then again the entire Hawks team struggled and underperformed, but hes typically solid, reliable, and durable. But if youve followed the team you know hes also a locker room guy, the glue of the team that kept everyone hyped and morale high. I dont get the Hawks fans saying its no big deal, or we didnt need him. I heard the same stuff after Huerter was traded for no reason other than to dump salary and I called it that we were fucked without him. Unless we pull off some big deal to bring a 3rd star in now we definitely shot ourselves in the foot again.

  18. They have sedic bey and okongwu. Ya they didnā€™t get much, but they shed a bunch of money and have two guys who are just as good as Collins and can step right in. Not that bad

  19. This is actually great for the jazz . Markenen, Clarkson, Collins, THT, Sexton , and Olynk. I feel like if they can get at least one superstar to pair with Markenen, the jazz could be a dangerous playoff contending team.

  20. Atlanta has Clint capela and now oyenka gets more minutes Atlanta won and can sign role players with the mle

  21. Hot take:

The jazz would be an immediate title contender if they traded Sexton and Horton Tucker with 5 future firsts for Ja.

  22. ATL does get a big TPE for over $20 million, which will help them with future moves. But they should have gotten at least a 1st out if the Jazz.

  23. Iā€™m confused , how does this work? The money doesnā€™t match
