The level of copium going on over on the Heat sub. He’s getting called a bum left and right, when the same people were d-riding him a week ago.

At this point Dame is hurting his legacy by going through this charade every single year, a lot more than if he just requested a trade.

Like, why do I get updates that nothing has changed( OR maYbE It Has!?!?) 3 times a week?

I’d be so over it if I were a Blazers fan. Shit or get off the pot my dude.

So as a Celtics/Blazers fan living in Portland, I think it’s easy for other fanbases to underestimate how much Oregonians revere Dame.

Lillard is easily the franchise’s GOAT player. Yes, Walton brought the city a championship and Drexler’s apex was arguably higher. But both of those guys left town and they’ve got some lingering resentment toward the Blazers that’s tainted their legacies. Dame has embraced the city like no athlete before him – he’s made a conscious decision to build his brand on loyalty in an era of stars constantly jumping ship.

Dame is obviously frustrated that his window is narrowing and he doesn’t have the talent around him to make a serious run for a ring. But he’s also very conscious that leaving Portland by no means guarantees him a ring – just look at Westbrook and CP3. He doesn’t want to diminish the legacy with the Blazers that he’s already built.

For what it’s worth, I think his reluctance to play for the Celtics has nothing to do with the city itself – it’s that the team is *too* talented. He wants to be the bus driver, not second fiddle to a superstar like Tatum – that could cheapen the perceived value of a ring even if he won, as we’ve seen with KD.

Why do they need to keep stating and restating this, and then meet again and restate this?

These things can change so fast. I’d be fucking thrilled if he doesn’t go there tho lmao
