Kinda just don’t want ayton because of that contract but I trust in Nico

They need to circle back and try to get this done ASAP. THJ and Holmes are on the books for the same amount of money anyways, just one less year and them coming off isn’t gonna open space with Kyrie, extensions, etc. on the way.

Hard to tell if this is a good deal or not without knowing if they have anybody lined up or close to lined up for the MLE. Can’t just look at this trade in a vacuum since doing it without including McGee could mean no MLE, which means no shot at Brown, Williams, Brooks, etc.

I don’t think you do anything that includes Hardy or Green.

Javale costing the Mavs Bruce Brown (twice) and Ayton is quite the accomplishment. God that signing ages worse and worse by the day.

Another option could be THJ+Bullock+McGee if we have Bruce Brown or Brooks lined up for the full MLE and they are not planning to bring back DP. But it remains very risky and we got burned by the KP trade. Though the investment is considerably smaller than what we did for KP.

Makes sense for both teams. Holmes is a serviceable big with familiarity in Phoenix with Booker, and Hardaway is a decent plug-in wing on a declining contract. Mavs might need to toss in a 2nd rounder, but that’s about as high as I would go in any offer for Ayton.
