Literally read this for free yesterday, now it’s behind paywall. Might be out of free clicks from CA. But I believe there’s a good amount of detail about us being the only team able to offer that 5th year. So in a way, we’re bidding against ourselves here. But if I were him, I might not be too scared to enter negations a year sooner anyway.
I’ll never blame players for taking maxes but the reason the late Duncan spurs won a chip is because people took pay cuts. If you don’t already have all the talent on your roster to win a chip, maxes are gonna make trades that much more difficult
