[RbPhillyTake] Tobias Harris on trade rumors: “Casual Sixers fans, they’ll trade me for a Crumbl Cookie… you’re not getting a 6’9 forward back who can, you know, damn near shoot 40% from three, guard other teams best player, shoot close up, drive, play 70-plus games a year” 😳 via @MrUram

I appreciate Tobias upping his trade stock but unfortunately 29 other teams are familiar with his game.

  2. What-tha-fck_Elon

Casual Sixers fans probably love Tobias. It’s the ones that watch every f&))$ng game that have seen enough.

  3. Downunderphilosopher

This is why all those ‘Its not Tobi’s fault the Sixers paid him like a superstar’ takes are just excuses. Tobi sees himself as a true star, while having the definition of a a mid scorer’s game. He thinks he could carry an offense if he was first option, and deserves to be treated and paid as such. The Sixers brass are at fault for actually paying him and falling for his bravado, but Tobi deserves his part of the blame for being a delusional and criminally overrated third option who demands to be respected like KD.

  4. theytook-r-jobs

    > guard the other teams best player

  5. jloops03

I wish I had the self confidence that Tobias has lol

  6. _0ZYMANDIAZ_

Oh he’s on here reading all those bum ass trade machine posts

  7. lardbiscuits

Get this clown ass watch collector out of here. The sheer audacity to be this ignorant with his second round performances and one thirty point game in two fucking years.

Guard the other team best player 🤡🤡🤡🤡

  8. 2ndRoundEuroStash

I actually admire the audacity to say something so insane 😂😂😂.

Tobi if you’re reading this I still wanna trade you but thanks for the laugh

I mean 0 lies here? Obviously there are other issues and the contract. But what do people disagree with what he said?

Not to mention he shot his highest TS% of his career this season. And his lowest usage rate of his career. Lower than his rookie season.

Obviously a lot of these numbers and what he said goes downhill in the playoffs. But that’s the entire team.

He isn’t saying anything that fancy here? He’s just a normal NBA player with some necessary ego.

Casual Sixers fans won’t know that you have a stake in Crumbl cookie so way to insert a sponsored post in your answer

  11. cable1321

This message is brought to you by Crumbl Cookies TM

  12. Rhino-Ham

He’s not wrong, but it’s weird that he’s saying it. There’s a chance Nurse finds a better way to use him where his strengths have more chance to shine. He should really have a bigger offensive load when Embiid is sitting.

  13. smittybanton

he’s correct. the options available to the sixers are lesser than him. darryl morey knows it. the question, though, is whether saving money off his deal can enable other roster moves.

  14. Januse88

A few things can be true at once. He’s right that he is a good basketball player and is overhated by much of the fanbase. But at the same time he’s probably the most overpaid player in the NBA and if we could trade him for a few solid role players I’d do it in a heartbeat

  15. movet22

I really like Tobi as a guy (and even regular season bball player). And it’s definitely not his fault that the ghost of Colangelo lives on in Elton Brand’s poor decision making.

But I’m just ready to be done with the constant crap that comes with him: vacillating between ‘he’s not worth the money’ and that GD ‘Tobi apology form’. I know these things are also not his fault, I’m just fatigued by them.

Good luck to Tobi in his next stint. I hope he absolutely kills it wherever he goes and I’ll always remember him fondly. But it’s time for a change.

  16. Theballharperhit

90 percent of this sub is casual and morons… Tobias is spot on here and we have multiple writers and the entire best show ever crew in philly agreeing with him. He is a 40 pct 3 point shooter who can post up and guard the other teams best player which is all accurate.

  17. blueisthecolor13

    40% from 3? Averaging 4 3’s a game he’s making ~1.5 per game…

  18. radracer28

I can see how Tobias and his Dad convinced (scammed) EB to give them a max contract.

  19. Spud_Rancher

I would trade you for a Chips Ahoy, not even the soft ones

  20. TryingToForget77

Then he should have no problem getting a 4 or 5 year deal worth 45m a year from some lucky team to have his wonderful talent. Guess his dad is right, he’s just an assassin! Assassins gotta get paid!!

  21. dabigchina

So even Tobias acknowledges that he is not valuable in the trade market.

  22. jeppsforst

He’s honestly correct. Tobias is a *good* player who just happens to be paid like a star. We won’t get anything close to as good as him in return

  23. Crumbl cookies are overpriced and mid. Perfect match with Tobi

  24. DrKay15

Where was that energy in clutch time? GTFOH

  25. Douglas_Michael

It wasn’t for a crumbl cookie, it was for 6 crumbl cookies and I’m ready to make that trade

  26. LordLucasSixers

Tobias is not a bad player just overpaid.

  27. CeleryOnReddit

Say what you will but his right. Maybe not to the level he is suggesting but if we trade him we need players who provide equal or better value on the court and I don’t know if that’s out there.

  28. Nid0k1ng

If he played half as good as the value of his contract in the postseason then maybe we would have actually made it out of the second round at some point.

  29. poolords

How bout you show up in the second round too. Bro is flexing regular season stats

  30. HumperMoe

Tobi is a good guy and a pretty decent player. The issue is he’s getting paid super star money and is not worth what he makes.

  31. He’s not wrong. Sixers fans underrate him because he’s overpaid.

  32. RichieD79

Idk man, Crumbl Cookie might be able to score more than 2 points in a must-win playoff game tbh

  33. JimadeusBluntzart

He called us filthy casuals lmao

  34. peter_the_martian

Well I don’t mind him talking himself tbh. You gotta be your own best advocate

  35. NotmejusaBEe

    Cookies you say?

I mean agree with what he says to a degree but I also like white chocolate macadamia Nut cookies and they always come thru.
They dont taste amazing one day to inedible in the playoffs.

I don’t know much about Crumbl because I walked by and saw them use chopsticks to put their cookies in a box and people I associate with being lame as hell tell me they are good. But they look like if you took cookies too seriously. So what do I know.

He plays like every Long Island athlete I have ever competed against. Higher value of themselves than they truly are.

  36. SmellyCheeseDisease

Dude I fucking hate this guy. The entire roster outside Embiid Maxey and Bball Paul is just so unlikeable.

  37. pimpson18

Real fans know how often he pump fakes out of a wide open 3 to take a contested fadeaway jumper

  38. Prestigious-Rock201

The amount of attention this got in an hour is hilarious, I can’t imagine a scenario where Tobias doesn’t get booed out of the building in Philly
