I don't get the Reggie Jackson hate. The bench was dysfunctional throughout the season. Staggering Jamal and making him hit tough shots was/is not a solution either. Staggering AG kind of worked, but in the end the Nuggets don't have back up 5 that can do what Jokic does. There is no way you can put that on Reggie and blame him. Other point guards would have failed as well in that situation. That's why I say, whatever happens in the offseason, go into the season open minded and see what works. The starters are set and as much as I would like them to get better ( AG free throws, MPJ consistency, etc.), I don't know how much better they can actually get. I mean they are the champions ffs. The easiest most obvious way to get better is the bench. Let the bench play and figure something out that works without most of the starters on the court. As far as I can see, that has 2 advantages.
1. Let's be real. The nuggets staying healthy played a major part in them winning. So let the bench play. I'm not advocating load management, but staggering starters to make the bench work might not be it.
2. Find something that works. Yeah I want Bruce back. Yeah I'm excited for Peyton Watson, but Christian Braun for example would not have played in the finals/playoffs, if he did not get so many minutes in the regular season. Rotations can still be cut, but having some versatility would be sweet.
Reggie could work. Especially after he has spend more time with the nuggets. Anybody could work. I'm ready to be surprised. All I am asking is for the bench to play and to be open minded.
I see Tyson getting the most minutes this season out of the three drafts.
