Charlotte Hornets Draft Brandon Miller & Nick Smith Jr | NBA Draft 2023

The Charlotte Hornets have selected Alabama F Brandon Miller 2nd overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. Also, Arkansas G Nick Smith Jr. Both Miller and Smith Jr are franchise upgrading players who will bring good fortune to the likes of LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, and Terry Rozier very soon.

  1. The hornets have a great chance at a great season Miller was a great pick as was smith jr I think they would instantly make an excellent impact

  2. We would have a big linup if he played the 2 guard spot: Melo, BM, miles, PJ, Mark. Huge linup

  3. To the Scoot Stan's, tell me what Scoot brings if you takeaway his athleticism like it happened with D Rose or any other player that had injury issues? Scoot already has had some history of injury. He's also a turnover machine.

I'm iffy on that #27 pick. Nick Smith Jr reeks of Bouknight. Watching his highlights his tunnel vision is apparent ala Bouknight.
That said, dude has a very advanced midrange jumper.

#31 James Nnaji wasn't bad, since it adds depth to the Center position.

#41 Amari Bailey was a steal. Solid point guard backup.

  4. I'm actually more intrigued with the Nigerian young man at the top of 2nd round. I am curious to see if he turns out to be a diamond in the rough.
The only thing I want from Miller is to stand outside the arc and hit his 3 opportunities. I think his high point could be a Glen Rice lite.
It would not hurt me if the Hornets got rid of Hayward, Rozier, Oubre, Washington, Bouknight.
My main concern with Miller is all between the ears. I consider him to be a very odd young man.

  5. I agree with your assessment of both picks. I was just wondering why some Hornets pundits were on the Scoot Henderson bandwagon and quite forceful about it. Any player with a hero ball mentality, to me, is seldom capable of carrying a team to the championship. For example, if Murray is paired with any other center, he cannot bring the Nuggets to the championship. It was the Joker's passing skills that elevated the team to an elite level. Another example is the Bulls with their two hero ball-type stars. They were on top of the standings but slid down to mediocrity when they lost their elite passer point guard Lonzo Ball. And way back, even MJ who was super athletic failed to beat the team of an aging Larry Bird because of the latter's elite passing skills that elevated his teammates' game.

  6. “The Charlotte hornets are not ran well enough to put up a smoke screen” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣bruh. You not wrong tho

  7. With the luck of the hornets and how much Nc loves basketball we deserve for Miller to touch the court and be a top 30 player in the league.

  8. Calm down? More than 10 years away from a play-off win and they pick for fit? For real? Bye mj, nobody gonna miss u

  9. Believe Hayward will go to the bench at some point in favor of Miller. It will be tough to bench Terry but he will be shopped up to the trade deadline. Agree that NSJ will either light fire under Bouknight or be the reason he's sent packing. This probably Kai Jones make it or break it year to avoid being traded. Amari Bailey will replace Maledon as the 2 way point guard and hopefully replace Jalen Crutcher in Greensboro. Nadja may be a draft stash overseas unless they believe he can be the 3rd backup center on 2 way. Drafting Miller provides some negotiating leverage with both Miles and PJ.

  10. I’m anticipating Terry possibly being traded, as well as Bouknight. Gordon will possibly be traded too but I can see the team keeping him for veteran leadership purposes and because it’s the last year of his contract

  11. Why would PJ Washington a Power Forward go to the bench for Gordon Hayward a Small Forward? Brandon Miller will take Haywards minutes

  12. Unless we resign Bridges, we still don’t have anyone who can get to the rim at will
