Are Blazers making a mistake remaining ‘committed’ to Damian Lillard? | NBA | SPEAK

Damian Lillard and his agent met with Portland Trail Blazers GM Joe Cronin to discuss the guard’s future. Cronin doubled down on it by releasing a statement, saying quote: ‘We had a great dialogue. We remain committed to building a winner around Dame.’ Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and Ric Bucher react to the Blazers decision (at least on the surface) to keep Dame.

  1. The Blazers floor next season is the playin and their ceiling is a 1st rd exit. Sorry Dame. Your team is just notngood enough. But go and score 80 points while Jokic and Murray will go for another title run.

  2. This conversation is so old. If he really wanted to leave he would’ve done so already. He doesn’t want to win. That’s his choice. Who’s going to come to Portland and team up? No one that’s who.

  3. I'm a Blazer lifer and Dame has supplanted Rasheed Wallace as my favorite Trail Blazer. Love everything about the dude: his attitude, his leadership, his game, his loyalty…its time for him to move on, it's time for us to move on. Let the man go compete for a ring and let us develop the young guys and get on with the rebuild

  4. Can we stop acting like Portland is holding this man hostage? He is paid 50 million, if he wants out he should be a man and demand a trade. If not, then the burden shouldn't be on Portland, either Dame does it, or he stays in Portland.

  5. more like Dame making a mistake remaining committed to the blazers.

  6. Yah it's just horrible keeping Dame…What a huge mistake keeping a top 75 player of all time on their roste rlol. Do you hear how foolish you come across to the fans? Is the money that good to look into the tv and sell that company line? No more integrity in reporting. Your arguments are lame at best…Somewhere Isah Thomas and Joe Dumars laugh at you. ESPN has become the National Enquirer of sports and the obvious henchmen to what the NBA brass wants…Good thing Dame knows who you really are

  7. Hey LeSean, I do know a song titled "It's Not You, It's Me." The relationship is not working anymore, but nobody wants to be responsible for the breakup. I think Dame is also afraid of change. I hope I'm wrong. Loyalty is a myth in sports.

  8. Dame more interested in the Benjamins than actually playing meaningful post-season basketball
