It’s steep, but I love this. Give Amen a mentor and in 2 years he can take over as the full time PG. Hopefully Lopez can come in and fill the same role for Sengun

Id be sick ngl… Jevon Carter does the same thing, better shooter, and like 80% cheaper

Lord that’s a lot of money, but on a short term deal I wouldn’t be too upset

That’s a lot of money per year, but I’m honestly okay with it if it’s just a two year deal. We desperately need some veteran point guard play and Fred is the best player available that will fit into the offensive system that Udoka is wanting to build

Damn, 40 mil a year. The money has to go somewhere. Hope he accepts

Focus on the contract length and not on the price. I’d rather us overpay a bit for 2-3 guys on 2 year deals versus getting better priced contracts on 4 year deals. Teams have to spend 90% of their cap by the beginning of the season now anyways

According to the new cba, teams are required to spend 90% of the salary cap. You’re going to see a lot of 1-2 year deals.

So instead of signing VanVleet to a 4 year/$83.6 million under the old cba, they will sign him to 2 year/$83.6 million contract in the new cba.

Would rather give that deal to harden imo. Lot of money to give someone who shot under 40% 2/3 years

Perfectly okay with this. We need stability at PG and FVV will do what is asked of him from Ime. Perfect vet for amen to learn from. And his contract won’t get in the way of any extensions for our young guys (Jalen, Jabari, Sengun)

  10. Imagine drafting #4, only to bench that pick. Smh

What’s going to be our Guard rotation if this happens?

  12. turtlechef

I like the structure of the contract but isn’t 40 mil a year 2/3rds of our cap space? I hope we can still get a good backup center at the very least

  13. NoPickles

    I don’t think he accepts.

we going to be stuck with dillon brooks.

It being a two year deal should make some people around here feel better. Maybe him and Cam can use the same shooting coach…

JFC. I was thinking 30mil a year max, this is ridiculous. The dude is undersized, below avg shooter, and soon will be over 30. We should be able to get him for less. So less than 20mill left over for any other FA we want to pursue? Kiss goodbye to Bruce Brown, Cam Johnson, Middleton, Brook, etc. It really is looking like Dillon Brooks 🤮🤮🤮

  18. It’s going to be a huge expiring next season. I actually like this. We need to spend, just not long term. This gives us flexibility

  19. nonetimeaccount

At least ryno won’t be our most overpaid guy in franchise history any more
