[Jake Fisher] The Cavaliers are looking at all kinds of wing targets, sources said, from Strus, to Kelly Oubre to Georges Niang.

>At this juncture, Max Strus, a career 37.1% 3-point shooter over three seasons with Miami, appears headed out of South Beach on the open market. There are several teams often mentioned by league personnel as Strus suitors, from those with cap room like Detroit, Indiana and Orlando, to teams that have the full mid-level exception like Cleveland, and others that are working to get under the first tax apron and gain access to that $12.2 million salary slot. The Cavaliers are looking at all kinds of wing targets, sources said, from Strus to Kelly Oubre to Georges Niang. There appears to be enough of an interest in Strus around the NBA that league figures aren’t expecting the DePaul product to return to Miami, and Strus sounds likely to command above the full mid-level in average annual salary when everything’s said and done.

Doubt we can afford Strus sadly, but I’m excited to see what magic Koby can perform during free agency

Niang seems like the best value of the 3

I’d like to see Jimmy Butler on this team.

Wouldn’t call Niang a wing. More of a small ball center/PF. He would be nice as a third big though for the Bi-annual.

Strus or Oubre would be nice for the MLE although I expect they end up getting a little more than that. Either one would be high minutes depth and scoring off the bench that can start in a pinch.

Niang would be fine for cheap since he shoots well at high volume, but does practically nothing else. I would max out on the BAE for him

Struss, Niang, s and t for another big wing and then a minimum big would be home run

  7. Strus is on another level, he’s a proven 3&D player and someone with a lot of playoff experience already. Oubre has a low basketball IQ, not even the Warriors could reform him. I can’t believe Koby will have both Levert & Oubre (on top of Mitchell and Garland) they both need the ball in their hands at all times.

I’m not sure Niang is better than Cedi, maybe more consistent shooting.

I’d probably take Niang of that group – he was actually ok on defense in the playoffs and is an awesome shooter. Not sure I like Strus for the Cavs unless Caris leaves – I don’t really think you can play him @ the 3 with DG and DM. Seems like adding another guy whose best position is shooting guard would be a mistake.
