I am all for the ScottPG experiment. But I also realize it could potentially be very ugly. He doesn’t blow by people reliably and still isn’t a great ball handler.

As a playmaker, I can totally see it. I still think he will be more of a playmaking big that we can run our offence through (like KG, Miller, Marc, Jokic etc), than a legit point guard. I think we’d be fine with him running the offence if we had guards that could still handle the ball, create a bit, and play off the ball – like Murray does on Denver. I can’t imagine being comfortable with Scottie taking a full court press.

I think he can absolutely thrive in that position given the reps. The timing of his passes is already better than a lot of PGs in the league. Ball handling is getting tighter every year. If this boi develops his 3 ball he’s gonna break the NBA.

Set this man a high screen with OG, Trent and Dick spread out and he will cook.

If we want Scottie to develop then he needs to ball to be in his hands more and the leeway to play through mistakes.

I’m over optimistic on Scottie as a PG that I know I’m setting myself for disappointment. I mean the Magic comparison is kinda crazy but I see it, get a Kareem and it’s showtime Raptors lol

  7. No, if he’s our pg we will lose 50+ games.

  8. I honestly think it would be stupid to try to play him as PG in the classic sense. If they try to guard him with some 6’3, we should not have him trying to break them down at the top of the key, or run pick and roll. That shits not gonna work. He’s handle is not good enough to be driving past guards. We gotta be posting him up and having him play make from there. If he’s cookin, they will put a bigger guy on him and then maybe he can try to break them down on the perimeter.

Look at what the Joker has been able to achieve as the primary ball handler. Let Scottie cook…

Fk it. Lets ship Fred out of town, not sign any guard and go full crazy long boi mode!!

Options: run it back and miss playoffs
Let Scottie try to take the reigns and worst case, don’t make the playoffs

Yup, if Fred leaves, I’d rather go All-In on PG Scottie than bring in an overpriced mediocre PG like Gabe Vincent.

Let’s not forget that we still have Pascal who’s also a point-forward type in his own right. He is more than capable to be a secondary ball handler to Scottie’s primary.

Love Scottie and holding all the stock I can get. He has the chops to be a playmaking forward. But if he is the starting PG on this team next year we are going to lose 50+ games

    * He cannot defend opposing small and fast PGs
    * His handle is loose (though improving)
    * He can’t shoot. Defences will sag off him on the perimeter.

If we could tank and get him high level reps Id be ok with this and see if its a long term option. But with our 2024 pick out the door, its extremey unlikely that we punt this year and tank out the gate for a bottom six finish.

Y’all been playing too much 2k. Let Scottie play the Draymond role, get someone who can dribble and shoot to play point

  15. godofhammers3000

Bro needs to get dribbling lessons from Kyrie do the plastic bag trick n shit

  16. TurtleSquad23

The bench needs to be better. I hope they are. Koloko and Precious need to improve. Boucher’s probably gonna be important. Gradey’s transition into the NBA is important.

IMO, another year or two of development, and the Raps might be able to make a serious run. Ofc, that depends on development and if certain players will boom or bust.

  17. Wolfduggins

Let’s just have him be Scottie. I really don’t think that’s as a pg. More like a draymond/jokic style facilitator. He’s never gonna be a true pg. And he doesn’t need to be to be great
