[NBACentral] Kyrie intends to take other FA meetings, per Ramona Shelburne

Personally, I believe Woj and Stein when they say Kyrie is coming back – but ideally he signs soon otherwise our flexibility is screwed and potential MLE guys might be gone

We’re fucked next year if he doesn’t sign with us

  2. DoncicsRoadTo200kg

Would be malpractice from his agent if he didnt at least check his other options, I dont see anything wrong with this.

LOL LA writer, the lakers beat reporters again

Lakers reporters trying to keep the narrative alive

I’ve always thought he walked. Still think he will. The interesting thing will be what the mavs do if he does.

Kyrie isn’t dumb, if he literally has zero gauge on his value the Mavs would screw him. He might be cool with coming back to Dallas but he’s going to make sure he gets paid, it’s a game and he ain’t no rook.

“other FA meetings”…what other teams can even afford Kyrie right now without making major moves?

  8. Hehe, looking at his potential locales to go get paid, he’ll be begging for us to trade back for him by mid-January.

Pretty standard stuff feels like a nothing burger.

I’m not an Irving fan but we almost have to keep him at this point.

This is how you better position yourself when it comes down to contract negotiations. A free agent can more easily demand X deal if he has Y, Z, etc. competing deals on the table.

Mavs need to stick to SkinWade’s offer, don’t budge.

Shelburne has zero sources she’s just a talking head on whatever network she’s on.

[The full segment goes on to say if they ask him to take less, he wants to know why he is going to take less. What do intend to do with that extra money. Bobby Marks then went on to say the ideal 1st year starting salary is around $38 million to get the full MLE.](https://youtu.be/JqbwiO_stgA?t=352)

I think Kyrie already knows why they want him to take less. There was that report earlier in the month about him wanting to be a recruiter. Can’t really do a lot of recruiting with the lesser tax payer MLE.

This is a story fed to the reporter by Ky’s agent and his agent wouldn’t be earning his $$ if he didn’t try something to get more leverage back into his client’s court.

I still gotta think Mas are very heavy favorites to re-sign him

  16. rudebwoy100

The Mavs kinda have to give Kyrie the max, right? Seems like he has all the leverage.

  17. Active_Page_3886

There just isn’t any good teams for him to spend the rest of his career on for the money he is going to warrant. I could see this being a way to leverage the 5th year or more money out of Dallas, but I hope this isn’t anything more than just getting free lunches from other organizations

  18. KBooks66

So is he just going to meet with imaginary teams because all reports say no one else is interested in him. I could see Kyrie having some great meetings with himself.

    Top tier journalism. Thanks Ramona!

Which team hired his uncle for an “Advisory” role?

  21. Sportsfanatic88

One report said where ever he signs, he wants it to be his final destination. But we all know Kyrie says one thing and does another the next year.

  22. EdoubleYT

So if Mavs sign him for 5 year/273M max.. how fucked is Dallas going forward in being able to improve this team with the new CBA?

  23. sign&trade please. i think the team would be better off without him
