[Wojnorowski] The Timberwolves are declining to pick up Taurean Prince’s $7.4M contract for the 2023-2024 season, sources tell ESPN. Prince — who’s averaged 10.4 points in his seven years — joins the free agent market

This dissapoints me. I liked TP and at the least thought he would have SOME value

Any issues on my end dissapear if we sign Bruce Brown

  2. M1THRANDlR

Well let’s hope we’ve got someone lined up

  3. LifterPuller

MLE here we come I guess. Should be able to get a solid player.

  4. DioBrando101

This was the right move although it sucks to lose him for nothing.

  5. Now the question is full MLE spending, or NAW + a partial MLE

  6. Hope this means they’ve got an agreement with Bruce Brown. I really don’t see any of the other MLE options as upgrades

  7. TylerIreland

FWIW, Jon K said it’s possible the Wolves decline his option and bring him back on a lower number.

Time to play ball. The MLE pool figures to be crowded.

Mods have to make sure they get the karma from the post 💀

Enjoyed having TP as a wolf. But now there are minutes to go around for some of our rookies, and we have the opportunity to potentially add another solid rotation player with the MLE.

Wow they really waited till the last minute.
Damn I thought we would have guaranteed him so he could be a trade asset for us.

  12. Calinks

Damn, he did pretty well here. Was a bit up and down but I appreciate TP.

Kinda sad, felt like he was a really good presence off the court for the team. Last season wasn’t as good as the one prior but felt like his contributions merited the contract, it’s just so hard with the tax situation.

38 in the Garden was magical! Sucks to lose one of our best shooters, but let’s see what’s next

  15. The_PHOnomenal_One

It sucks to lose one of our few reliable 3 point shooters. But he is injury prone & not picking it up allows us to use the full MLE.

Monte no longer available. Backup pg is a dark place rn. I’m scared.

TP was probably one of my favorite recent playrrs.

He was our true tough guy on the team. Knew how to get a basket when we needed it. Instead of chucking another three, he would take it to the hoop.

When we needed a three from the bench he was the guy.

Need someone to take a charge? That’s TP.

I see this as a major loss.

I don’t give a shit what anyone says. The fact that we have 100million salary in centers and can’t keep this great guy for only 7 million is an absolute disgrace.

TP will be a very good plug&play asset for every playoff team and will be sorely missed in Minnesota.

I like TP quite a bit. That errant pass he made that lost us a game was not his best moment with us.

traded ricky and a second round pick for prince, 2 years ago. now we cut prince, gotta wait and see who we sign but we can finally grade that trade as a bad move, at least in my eyes.

Hopefully this is a good sign that they like what they’ve seen from Minott and expect him to be a part of the rotation.

Either that or they feel like Anderson can full in for those minutes at the 3.
