Play Brandon at the 2 and PJ at the 4

  2. Ares9719

I prefer looking to slot miller in as a big 2 guard and have pj playing the power forward. Although miller has the height, he doesn’t have the size or strength to play the 4 yet

  3. Apollo6642O

Miller is starting at 2 and PJ at 4.

The league is at a point where every team is so talented and multifaceted. Like only WAS is a team where you can say they outright stink and they still have potential from their roster. I think this team sits firmly at 9 or 10.

  5. InShambles234

9th or 10th seed at best. Lose the play in game.

  6. Miller said he fits best at 3. Does Clifford bench Hayward? Im not sure

It’s probably going to be Melo, rozier, Hayward, bridges, Williams from the start, then shifts to miller taking over if he does well enough.

Edit- obv pj for bridges for at least the suspension. Possible bridges won’t even start after that too. But he’s better than pj so we will see.

Isn’t Bridges suspended to start the season 10 games or something like that? Also bigger fan of BM at the 2 MB at the 3 PJ at the 4 or Hayward at the 3 MB at the 4

Cliff doesn’t really ever start rookies at the beginning of the season. That combined with Miles’ suspension and probably having to re-earn his minutes means we’ll probably have the same starting 5 as last year, at least initially. Our starting 5 after the all star break will probably be Melo, Miller, Miles, PJ, Mark (I’m assuming Gordo is hurt and Terry is running the second unit).

  9. Spierre3

A starting lineup like this only happens if we trade hayward and rozier. Outside of that, brandon miller is likely coming off the bench.

Brandon miller is not a SG. He never played SG and will not magically start playing SG in the nba. He’s a SF through and through. He’ll back up gordon Hayward to start the season, but will play plenty of minutes. Just as the sun sets, Gordon Hayward will quickly get injured and miller will step into the starting lineup.

This is by far the most talented team Clifford has ever had between here and Orlando, and he’s dragged some teams to the playoffs. I could see us making the playoffs and honestly if we stay fully healthy, 45+ wins doesn’t seem insane. Even our third stringers (McGowens, Thor) proved last season that they are actual NBA players which is nice.

Assuming we don’t bring Kelly back, I find it hard to believe that Clifford will (at least to start the season) will bench Rozier and Hayward at least until Miles is back from suspension and not rusty

    Lamelo
    Rozier
    Hayward
    PJ
    Mark

    DSJ
    Cody
    Miller
    Miles
    Richards

Probably swapping Hayward / Miles halfway through the season and maybe Miller as well.

Having a team where you are deep enough where you have to bring two of Rozier / Hayward / Miller / PJ off the bench is pretty great.

It’s going to be an interesting one with all those chefs in one kitchen. On one hand, I’m not too big on rookies starting out of the gate.

On the other, Hayward, Rozier, Oubre and Bouknight are on the chopping block and Bridges will be rusty as shit so why not let Miller show what’s he got at the 3?

I’m seeing this as a starting 5 until at least early November. Provided Melo doesn’t break his own damn ankles crossing himself up again, 43-39.

  13. Skeptic135

Is Miles Bridges coming back to the Hornets?

PG: Melo, Smith; SG: Terry, Cody; SF: Gordon, Miller; PF: Miles, PJ; C: Mark, Richards

  15. CrownTownLibrarian

    I feel confident we’re a top 25 team

while i think scoot was BPA and long term, the better pick, Miller definitely has the better floor earlier on, is a more natural fit, and will probably contribute to wins earlier than scoot would have.

i like the odds of the protected pick conveying. the depth isnt that bad either, assuming Hayward is back, and Nick Smith as a combo guard off the bench. really, all of Rozier/Ball/Smith are combo guards so theres a lot of lineup versatility back there.

Uh oh, looks like we might need to start hitting the weight room with Miller before he can play the 4 😂

This kid is gonna be a great player for another team in 5 years!

I don’t think Clifford starts Miller day one unless he leaves absolutely no doubt during training camp.

We start the season with Melo/Terry/Hayward/Bridges/Mark or Melo/Terry/Bridges/PJ/Mark.

If/When Miller breaks into the starting lineup, I think he replaces Terry, not one of the forwards.

In any case, I’m quite happy with our top 7 going into the season if Miller is who the team thinks he is (I have my doubts but that’s for another conversation). Mark at C, Rozier and Melo at guard, and a wing/forward rotation of 6’6-6’9 guys in Bridges/Hayward/PJ/Miller.

It’s the rest of the roster I’m really struggling with from #8 down. We have an ungodly amount of roster spots tied up in young dudes that aren’t going to contribute much next season without a LEAP. It’s especially a concern when one of the good 7 is Hayward who is simply too injury prone to be counted on.

That lineup is gonna give up 150 a game.

Pj, Miles and Miller are all players which I cant see playing any other position other than the 3 or 4, Gordon is really the only person I would trust playing a Guard. I still wouldnt make him a guard over Terry tho. Brandon Miller has to play the 3 once he has developed a bit, which begs the question should we get rid of one of the Forwards and who should it be? There are obviously not enough positions to make all of them starters.
I would find a way to get rid of Gordon, just because of his contract and how injury prone he is, which would let Miles/Pj/Miller rotate as the Sf and Pf.
