He had twice as many attempts as Jokic last year but was almost 20 percentage points worse at converting. The Bulls are doubling down on not being a team that values 3 pointers.
To me, that shows that we should use him to his strengths and not park him behind the 3pt line. He’s a capable shooter but, he needs to be in the post a lot more.
We’re bringing him back. Might as well try to make the best of it.

Yes, I agree. Vucevic is obviously worse than Jokic, you’ve convinced me OP. We should play with NO center until we get one as good as Jokic. I think there is only one center as good as Jokic however, being Jokic himself, so it might be a while.

He’s better at catch and shoot 3’s from the top of the arc.

Donte DiviCenzo declined the Warriors option. I won’t pretend to know team financials. I’ll just ask: Can the Bulls afford him?

The difference between Orlando Vuc and current Vuc is he isn’t an above average three point shooter anymore. Hopefully he can find it again, if he gets that thing up to 38% on volume suddenly he’s a much more valuable player and absolutely worth his new deal. I don’t think it’s unreasonable as he typically is near the top ten in wide open three pointers attempted. (He was 14th last year in wide open attempts, shooting a blistering 35%)
Honestly the difference between us being a threat largely has hinged on Vuc hitting jumpers, and thus far it’s been up and down.

I hope he dramatically improves his shooting or dramatically reduces his minutes.
