MPJ becoming a well rounded player who fully bought into his role is such a great storyline for this team. Pre injury he was a projected number one overall pick who could still be in the mindset of being a number one option. His shot left him in the finals but he still found ways to contribute. He’s an above average rebounder, competent (to good?) defender, and in the close out game a glue guy making hustle plays. This guy deserves that ring.

He could have pulled a Bones and forced himself somewhere else that might let him explore his game and see how great he could be individually.
Instead, he sacrificed that to be exactly what the 2023 Nuggets needed and got to be part of something truly great as a team and helped the team win even when he was ice cold. Much, much love for you, MPJ!
Happy Birthday!

I hope to see him make a jump next year and be an all-star. Out of all the players in this team, I feel like MPJ is the guy who’s currently the furthest away from his ceiling rn.

Seeing him turn it around in the finals by cutting, rebounding and playing defense was awesome
Him draining that three in the 3rd quarter of game 5 was an epic moment to cap it all off, crowd went crazy bc of that
