[Charlie Walton] Micheal reports here that the Timberwolves are “open” to sign-and-trade possibilities with Jaylen Nowell. He also mentioned that the Timberwolves are still interested in Donte DiVincenzo, along with six other teams.

    6 other teams…that’s rough.

And I’m interested in what kinda contract Nowell would be offered that’d require sign and trade assistance.

My money is on fumbling all the notable free agents

  3. man if we lose TP just to get told no by these MLE free agents…

July Tim Connelly might not be it

resigning him and trade him to wizard perhaps.

9m total for 3 years I believe is a good contract for him. In wizards he can get more attention and improves his average in scoring.

We can throw jmac to be closer to matching salaries. Same applies for him assuming that they will also trade another pg.

Who is hard capping themselves for Jaylen Nowell?

Not popular but I wonder what waiting out early free agency then trying to go bargain bin shopping after the dust settles would look like. Waive McLaughlin and Knight to get up to 17.7 million in space under the luxury tax.

NAW + splitting the MLE between two players signing 2 year deals. Then a couple minimum contracts to reach 14 players.

Take some flyers trying to find one value contract they’ll be able to carry over to the ’24-25 tax squeeze relatively painfree. Like if they sign a full MLE guy to multiple seasons they may have to dump him after just one year to avoid significant tax.
