Really hard to make a comparison for him. He excelled at the draft combine shooting drills. Is a really tough shot maker. But thatâs mainly because he canât create much separation, doesnât have a quick first step, nor does he finish well at the rim. Just one clip but him finishing with his right hand on the left side of the rim was kindaâŠ

Great teams have the depth to have guys like this coming off the bench and playing a role. If he can learn that role, spot up guy, he will earn minutes.

I really hope his shooting translates to the nba. Thatâs all we need him for, all of our starters can get to the rim and finish at a pretty high level, but I donât think Bates will ever be an above average finisher at the rim.
