@Denver Nuggets

[Tim MacMahon] Sources: Bruce Brown intends to meet with the Mavs soon after the opening of free agency. Brown is expected to have several suitors and has not ruled out a return to Denver despite the financial constraints. His market is $12.4M midlevel but Nuggets are limited to $7.8M.

    But mavs wouldn’t have bird rights next summer to give him a big extension?

  2. How does it work that the Nuggets are limited?

    Nothing wrong with due diligence. As long as you come back home and sign the thing, Bruce!

    Iā€™d rather he goes to the Mavs than the lakers if heā€™s not coming back

    Honestly, the fact that he ā€œhas not ruled out a return to Denver despite the financial constraintsā€ (and despite the fact that it seems overwhelmingly obvious to most people that he will likely take the money) speaks volumes about the culture of this team.

    I believe he probably *is* truly torn because of how much he loved it here, and even if he ends up signing elsewhere, it wonā€™t have been as inevitable as people will make it out to beā€¦

    Remember in “Moneyball” when Brad Pitt traded every 1st baseman, so the manager had to start Hatteberg?

    I wonder if Booth would let Bruce and Uncle Jeff walk, just to force Malone to develop Braun and all these other youngsters like Watson, Jack White, this year’s rookies, etc.

    Brown would obviously have a big role, and I could see Green just being a veteran and winning in practice, which could obstruct the youngstas.

    tbf the nuggets have a proven track record of keeping their promises and this is widely known at this point imho. if he signs anywhere else, in a year he’ll be in the same position he is now – true, he’ll have 5mil more to his name, but he’ll have to play even hungrier to win that next long-term bag, as he ain’t winning a chip in dallas next year lol

    yes injury is always a risk, but the nuggets stuck with broken acls and three back surgeries, I mean it doesn’t get more reliable than that. and the risk of him not getting the bag after next year because he signed for a crap team and everyone forgot about ’23 run is not mentioned enough, imo

    The fact that someone hasnā€™t offered him something in the 3-4 year range for 15-18M per year is crazy. Duncan Robinson got 5/90M.

    I hope he comes back just to spite the other teams for lowballing him. Cā€™mon Brucey we will pay you one day!!

    Get your bag homie. The numbers are too far off to consider it realistic for him to return once he starts talking to other teams. (Hope I’m wrong)

    Bruce should go to a bad team with cap space

    If he leaves without getting an actual BAG I will be devastated
