  1. Just watch us tho we're about to be mid don't get mad at me I am a Kings fan too although I'm not a long-time Kings fan I've researched the NBA a while and the teams that at least make some sort of good addition now how's our European guy wana come if he is stuck as the third pf we just screwed him over

  2. Love my Kings but this team is cooked. 6 seed at best next season.

  3. I like HB, but he overworks himself, riding a bike when he takes a break. Needs to rest for the playoffs.

  4. So next year, Monk is going to become a free agent. He should get paid more than Barnes. Are the leaders going to out price the bench, so that we can't afford a great bench?

  5. I don't see HB improving but this signing tells me that the other players on the team have a higher ceiling. I think HB brings something off the court that can't be replaced. I would like to see him step up more on the court and act as more of a facilitator/defender.

  6. I think Sasha should sign, then use the cap to upgrade long-term contracts with Sabonas, Lyles, and Monk. If we have to, upload their contracts by paying more in the early year and less for the next years. We have a solid winning team already, but we can get some potential future stars with future cap space.

  7. Kings fans crying over Barnes signing, is the same fans that were crying over the Haliburton / Sabonis trade

Aren’t they smart enough to realize Monte McNair knows what he’s doing? (I’ll throw Mike Brown in there too, he said HB is irreplaceable)

All Kuzma will do is take Keegan Murray 3 point shots away. And Monte KNOWS THIS.

I’d rather Keegan taking those shots. He’s better at it anyways

  8. Not a good thing but not a bad thing you get what you get from Barnes which is a vereran leader who is always available stats not overwhelming especially come playoffs if your ok paying $18 mil for that then fine no disrespect but i would of used the excess money to swing for the fences grab a bigger name but I'm no professional nba guru I'll trust monte with this one i feel he's got something brewing for us kings fans……

  9. Love my Kings community, but we are one of the worst at overreacting. Barnes
extension is a solid move. Great value for a hard to find starter at that position. Let's just take a breath and chill.

  10. In other words… HB on a medium contract is not long-term. But he’s a great trade piece when Monte finds the right move. Until then, there’s plenty of room to grow with the young and incoming players. And stability at SF.
    Not flashy, but true.

  11. Everyone has forgotten that Harrison Barnes played great because it was a contract  year he won’t play better this coming up year…most players don’t play better the next year after a contract year ….if the kings don’t make a big trade or get a big free agent singing ..kings will regrat this decision .

  12. You bring up a good point about the Kings not making a move at the trade deadline and still keeping the 3 seed… However I can make the suggestion that a move could have put them at the 2 seed, or better yet helped them get out of the first round as rebounding and defense was the major issue in the playoffs. Half empty, half full? I think re-signing HB was an extremely safe move and not worth the 24th pick. I would have preferred a move to move up in the draft to pick Kris, that would have been more impressive . Will see if something big is coming up. There could still be a move that could blow our minds. I'll wait on judgement to see.

  13. If all we do this offseason is re-sign HB and add the 2 rookies … F .
We got a 2-3 year window to get as much talent around fox, sabonis, keegan , monk … C’’Mon

  14. Well unless the Kings have a bigger deal in place, running it back and not upgrading will be risky for them, especially their performance in the first round without any defense.

  15. The move was good simply cuz he knows the system and shoot we can make a trade later thats okay

  16. I was telling people even at the end of the regular season that Harrison Barnes will choke away the playoffs for the Kings. Then he did. So you know how I feel about this. Letting him walk would have been addition by subtraction imo. And I don't like Huerter as a player much but he at least played decent defense surprisingly in the playoffs and had an OK +/-.

Harrison Barnes had the worst +/- of any player in the SAC GS playoff series. Sluggish, clumsy and weak on offense and defense. He made Kevin Huerter look good. And at the end of game 4 it wasn't just that Barnes missed the WIDE OPEN 3, but he ruined the 4 flat play Mike Brown called. Fox was supposed to iso but Barnes brought his defender over to Fox and forced the clutchest player in the league to pass out of a double team.

I won't be watching as much this season because I know Barnes will ultimately choke away the playoffs again

  17. We have no interior presence and low athleticism, just tons of 3 pt shooters but if they don’t fall we can’t compete on the interior it seems. It’s like we addressed nothing in off-season except some rookie defense. Feels like a weak off-season. We have a great team and I like Barnes but we saw what happens when shots won’t fall….guess we ride or die on 3’s ….even with Middleton. We didn’t address rebounding nor athleticism nor defense (except rookie) nor interior presence nor grit

  18. I just want to know what they are doing with the rest of the cap room, ik lyles is coming back maybe sasha can we get another decent free agent we still neef a backup center

  19. HB disappeared during the playoffs, I’m sorry but I’m still trying to get over that.

  20. I don't think most fans, including myself, care if HB comes back. I love the idea, but you still have to make an upgrade or improvement. You can not stand pat when every other team, including the ones that purposely tanks, is trying to get better this year and making moves to get better. Just think all of these teams can easily be the same level or better than us next year as it stands now. That's just with the moves they already made. Free agency hasn't started. Denver, Memphis, Phoenix, Lakers, Utah, Warriors then you have the wild cards Clippers, Portland and Houston. Everyone is going all in at the same time.
