This thread was already deleted by mods once but I’ll comment here in case this stays.

I don’t really care for Drummond either way but Stein reported him to the Mavs as part of a trade and his option fits perfectly into the remainder of the Bertans TPE.

Hey anyone remember that Twitter account that predicted some things like Whitmore falling out of the top 10 and Cuban started following him

Hopefully this doesn’t mean that any trades involving Javale or Holmes have fizzled out since it seemed like the Mavs bringing in Drummond could have been contingent on that. Alternatively, as someone else said Drummond’s option fits into the rest of the TPE, so maybe if Chicago doesn’t care to keep him and wants to dump the money for nothing he could be moved to the Mavs. He’s not really worth sending out any assets if it came to that imo so it’d have to be a pure dump

He’s reputable usually but in this case he was a Fakenewstein.

It’s interesting a lot of people’s takes is that this is about the Mavs moving out McGee, but I kinda see this kind of move being contingent on them being stuck with a McGee/Lively rotation with no insurance because they’re choosing to trade to upgrade the 3/4 spot.

Lively/McGee/Drummond makes a degree of sense for your pure 5 rotation, especially if the goal is insuring Lively’s development while acknowledging 5’s are increasingly a limited minuets role position unless they’re Jokic or Embiid.

Then you can go spend your trade capital on a 3/4 or a 4/5.
