[WOJ] The Trail Blazers are waiving forward Trendon Watford, sources tell ESPN. Watford, 22, had two productive seasons with Portland and joins the free agent market with some upside value for teams

Oh interesting. Iā€™m a little surprised to be honest

  2. Corr521

I’m crushed. Really liked Watford. Really promising young player

  3. Makes no sense. Some Windy “why would they do this?” vibes.

  4. Krustykrab8

Ok Cronin better be cooking something at this point. Why cut a cheap young player unless you have big plans in mind

  5. KillingTime_ForNow

What the actual fuck? One of our only bench players that was actually semi-decent. And he was on a good contract. Feels like nothing but a money saving move.

  6. Piano9717

And Keon and Jabari both still have roster spots?? What the fuck???

  7. Corr521

So we basically don’t have a PF on the roster right now…

  8. AnonNAM

Oh shit! Something may be coming šŸ‘€

Bad move: Watford is a player who showed steady improvement on a cheap contract. Even if the Blazers didn’t plan to play him, he’s a good value as an end of bench developmental guy.

this actually sucksā€¦ he was really coming into his own

  11. regularperson2586

If we’re freeing up space for another guard im callin quits.. wtf man

  12. AmphedUp6214

i’m not even gonna lie, i’m kinda gutted by this. i love that guy and he was on a good contract. this sucks

  13. Awkward_dapper

Wishing him the best wherever he ends up, I love Trendon

  14. saylab_the_bigkat

Damn, this one actually caught me off guard. Seemed like Trendon was starting to grow into that middle playmaker role on offense and at the very least, an active and engaged defender.

Like really seemed like he was on an upward trajectory with his confidence and skill.

    Im a little hurt rn

I havenā€™t seen the sub this torn up since we waived Wenyen Gabriel

  16. keeltis

From the outside looking in I think you guys are clearing space to make a swing. Seems like you guys probably found a FA or 2 to bring in. Doubt it’s a trade cause I’m sure someone would’ve taken him back in a trade.

  17. JoeCroninAlt

We need bigs who defend and rebound. Not surprised at all by this.

  18. HappyAtheist3

Why?!! To save 1.8 million? This is insane.

  19. whats-this-blk-sht

Better make this up to me at 3 pm, Joe.

  20. Forbidden_Donut503

    What the actual fuck.

This better be to bring him back on better deal.

Is he too tall or something? Why would we release a young, cheap, productive player who still has upside? I mean watford is likely never an all star or even a starter, but heā€™s great for depth. This fucking sucks man.

  21. sean_buttcannon

This makes no sense. His contract was extremely valuable at its price. 1.8 million is not a needle mover for some type of move. What could honestly be the reason for this? Iā€™m baffled truly. He was really good. If he doesnā€™t come back Iā€™m sure sharpe is gutted that was his boy.

  22. Cost cutting maybe? I never want to assume weā€™re actually making a big impact trade.

  23. shelvino

    wtf?!?!?!!?!

As I was sleeping, I was imagining him being our playmaker to help get Embiid the ball. But in all seriousness, he was a terrific playmaker that understood how to play off of high gravity guys like Dame. Just great feel on how to leverage defenses to get where he wanted to and score or pass. This SUCKS.

  24. saw-sync

ugh, i hate this. big watford fan, what the hell happened

  25. Corr521

Can’t believe we let him go before Jeenathan Williams
